Subject: Geography

Chapter: Major Domains of the Earth

Topic: Lithosphere (Forest)

A comparative study on different types of forest found in Karnataka


and Ladakh and steps (scheme) initiated by state/central government to
preserve the forest.
Students shall share two ways to preserve forest as a responsible citizen.

Activity (Mode): To be done on a chart paper and pic of the same to be attached

in ppt slide

Description of the activity: Class will be divided in groups of 6 out of which one

student will be doing SST activity as guided by SST teacher.

Objectives:

 to create awareness to the need for preserving and appreciating the diversity of forest
on our planet.
 demonstrate their knowledge by giving examples of different types of forest.
 to teach about the various domains of the earth.
 to communicate the importance of forest.
 to study and present their ideas of the major domains of the earth.
 to respect diversity & local context
 to inculcate the spirit of research in learning
 to encourage the use of technology & ICT
 to encourage holistic education across Social Science, English,
Hindi, Science, Mathematics and Kannada
Methodology of Activity:

 Students will be divided into groups of 6 in each.


 Each group will research, collect information and present the information on chart
paper as instructed by the respective subject teacher.
 A photo of the chart paper has to be taken and presented in a ppt slide.
 Once all the subjects are completed, the students will present their work in the class
as a group.
