CONSULTATION MEETING & PLANNING WITH CHILD LEADERS IN DULAG
THROUGH CHILDREN CONGRESS ON OCTOBER 11-12, 2017

AN ACTIVITY DESIGN

OVERVIEW

The Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC) aspire to create a
safer space for children to play, learn and participate in its development. To
support this aspiration, the MCPC proposes to hold a children’s congress where
child leaders representing the Barangay Councils for the Protection of Children
(BCPCs) and school government bodies participate in identifying their agenda
that should be included in the MCPC plan for 2018.
This consultation meeting and planning workshop with child leaders in
Dulag through Children’s congress aim to contribute towards creating a child-
friendly municipality and develop social services that include children in
developmental processes such as planning and implementation.

OBJECTIVE

Under Dulag’s Urusa and Gugma programs, the Municipal Council for the
Protection of Children (MCPC) aims to contribute by inculcating a new brand of
leadership among the children thru participative governance.

This will be achieved thru children’s congress with the following specific
objectives:
1. Children are able to express the pressing issues of children in Dulag.
2. Children are able to express their vision for the children in Dulag.
3. Children can identify and rank appropriate interventions to the identified
pressing issues confronting children.
4. Children are provided with opportunity to present their recommended
intervention to concern stakeholders from various sectors.
5. Children are given an opportunity to be heard to hone their skills in good
governance.

association representative to the BCPC, 3) age between 12-16 years old.

BUDGET REQUIREMENTS

The total budget required from the Municipal Government of Dulag for the
conduct of the 2-day MCPC and BCPC consultation meeting and planning with
child leaders in Dulag on 11-12 November 2017 is Php 555,000.00 with the
