CONDUCT OF THE 2023 SOUTH CLUSTER ATHELTIC ASSOCIATION MEET –

ATHLETIC SELECTION

To: All Santiago South Cluster School Heads

All Others Concerned

1. Pursuant to Article XIV, Section 19 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, the

State shall promote physical education and encourage sports program,
league competitions and amateur sports. All educational institution shall
undertake regular sports activities throughout the country in cooperation
with athletic clubs and other sectors. Likewise, Republic Act No. 9155
known as the Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001, provides that the
program for school sports and physical fitness shall continue to be the
responsibility of basic education.

2. In support to the preparation of the conduct of the SDO Santiago City Sports
Activities including City Meet, this Office announces the conduct of the 2023
Santiago South Cluster Athletic Association Meet – Athletic Selection
scheduled on December 11 - 12, 2023 at Santiago South Central School.

3. Any incidental expenses incurred by the participants during the conduct of

the activity shall be charge against their school fund subject to the usual
accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

4. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is earnestly desired.
