I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates an understanding that reading in a wide range of texts
provides pleasure and an avenue for self-expression and personal development.
B. Performance Standards The learner uses linguistic cues to appropriately construct meaning from a
variety of texts for a variety of purposes.
C. Learning Competencies To develop learners' various reading skills, improve vocabulary, learn new
words and expressions, and enhance their creativity and imagination.
