Before we begin our lesson today, I have an activity for you to
complete. I'll choose ten people to answer to our activity.

(The teacher will pick 10 names of students)

Instructions: Fill in the blanks in the following sentences with


the correct adjectives.

Today we are going to discuss about Adjectives
So our objectives are to: define an adjectives, enumerate the
degrees of comparison for adjectives and lastly, use
adjectives in a sentences.

Who can give an idea about adjectives? (Student answer)

Alright! Kindly read the definition of adjectives. Adjectives – modifies a noun or a pronoun by describing,
identifying, or quantifying words.
How about the examples of adjectives? Examples:
1. He is a very kind person.
2. She got a beautiful car.
3. She found a nice job.
4. The child feel happy.
5. This soup is very hot.

What word do the beautiful describes? Ma’am a car.

Yes correct! Beautiful describes a car.

How about the next one?

What do the word nice describes? Ma’am a job.

Yes exactly! The word nice describes a job.

Okay. How about the next one?


Who is happy? Ma’am the child.

Yes. Very good!

Next let us proceed to the three degree of Adjectives.

Adjectives have three degree: positive, comparative, and


superlative.

The positive degree of an adjective is the simplest form of


that particular adjective.
Comparative degree of an adjective denotes a higher degree
when compared to a positive degree. It is used to compare
two persons or things.

The superlative degree of an adjective denotes the highest


degree of the quality. Superlative degree is used to compare
more than two persons or things.

Comparative and superlative forms of adjectives are formed


by adding r and st or er and est or more and most etc.

Let's try to understand Positive, Comparative and Superlative


forms of the adjectives with suitable examples.

Examples:
Victor is a tall boy. (Positive Degree)
Victor is taller than Shyam. (Comparative Degree)
Victor is the tallest boy in the class. (Superlative Degree)

She is an active student.


She is more active than he is.
She is the most active person in the entire household.

So, let's return to our previous activity.

Okay, for you to understand more about the adjectives forms,


I'll divide you into two groups. Please begin counting from
one to two.

May you all stand. The group one will be stay on the right
board and on the group two on the left board. So now, I'd like
each group to determine the positive degree of the ten
sentences I'll read, and then write the comparative and
superlative of it.

One point for positive, comparative, and superlative


equivalent for three points. The group who will earn the
highest point will be the winner.

So let’s now start. Listen carefully.

sheet of paper.
