BPOC RESOLUTION NO. 1, s. 2023

A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE APPOINTMENT OF BARANGAY TANODS

WHEREAS, Chapter 2 Section 387 (b) of the Local Government Code provides that the
Sangguniang Barangay may form community brigades and create such other positions or
offices as may be deemed necessary to carry out the purposes of the Barangay government in
accordance with the needs of public service, subject to the budgetary limitations and personal
services prescribed under Title Five, Book II of the Code;

WHEREAS, Chapter 4 Section 391 No. 16 of the same Code, mandates the
Sangguniang Barangay, as the legislative body of the Barangay, to provide for the organization
of community brigade, barangay tanod or community service unit as may be necessary;

WHEREAS, DILG MC No. 2003-42 dated March 10, 2003 re Guidelines on

Professionalizing the Barangay Tanod, provides that a Barangay Tanod shall be appointed by
the Punong Barangay upon recommendation of the Barangay Peace and Order Committee;

WHEREAS, upon careful review of the qualifications and thorough deliberations by the
committee, the following candidates are hereby recommended for appointment:

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of HON. RENALDO E. ELLE duly seconded by HON.

RICHARD P. LABRADOR and HON. LOVELLE E. DORONILA;

RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to recommend the appointment of the

above-named candidates as Barangay Tanods of Barangay Igtalongon, Igbaras, Iloilo..
