STUDIO

The Badewa dance is a dance that is adapted from the Badewa treatment ritual of the Bakumpai
Dayak tribe. This dance was worked on by the head of the Sinar Pusaka Art Studio who is also
one of the successors of the Badewa Ritual tradition, then developed in stages in the studio
which was performed by members of the studio's leadership family and then taught to other
studio members. The Badewa dance is not only a performance medium, but there are many life
and social lessons in every make-up and dress. Based on this, the researcher is interested in
conducting research on the make-up and clothing of the Badeva Dance at the Sinar Pusaka
Banjarmasin Art Studio. This research method uses descriptive qualitative methods, with
observation, interview and documentation methods. As well as the formulation of the problem,
namely How to Make Up and Dress for the Badewa Dance at the Sinar Pusaka Art Studio,
Banjarmasin and the factors that influence the development of the Badewa Dance Makeup and
Dress at the Sinar Pusaka Art Studio. Based on the results of this study, it shows that the
characters, symbol meanings and meanings in the make-up and clothing of the Badewa Dance
teach us that wherever we are, do good to our fellow creatures. If someone does evil, don't be
rewarded with evil but with good. Truly the best medicine for all diseases is to draw closer to
God and ask for more prayers for protection. The factors that influence the development of the
make-up and clothing for the Badewa Dance at the Sinar Pusaka Art Studio are the artist's own
factors, characteristic factors, cultural factors, educational factors, technological factors,
competition factors, globalization factors.
