B. Profile of the Program Course


i. Title of the Program: School-Based In-Service Training and Workshop for
Teachers’ Professional Growth and Development cum Orientation and Re-
orientation of DepEd’s Programs, Activities and Project
ii. Rationale:

Pursuant to DepEd Order no. 22, s. 2023, entitled Implementing Guidelines on


the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2023- 2024, the
midyear INSET for teachers is scheduled on January 24-26 and 29-30, 2024.
Based on the DM OUHROD 2024- 0037, entitled, Guidelines on the Conduct
of the In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) for School Year 2023- 2024, it has
been reiterated that, in the continuous pursuit of excellence in providing quality
professional development programs for teachers and school leaders, NEAP issued
guidelines in the conduct of INSET. It is very timely, that based on the result of
the consolidate e-SAT result of the teachers, one of the priorities for development
is 7.3.2. Participated in professional networks to share knowledge and to enhance
practice.
Thus, Sote Elementary School teachers will have its mid-year INSET on
January 24-26 and 29-30 from 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM. The topic of this INSET will
focus on the given topics based on the guidelines.

iii. Program Description:


The general objective of this INSET is to enhance teachers’ professional
growth and development. This training intends to let the teachers learn on how to
develop learning resource materials that is suit to the standards of the Learning
Resource Management. The teachers will also be undergone orientation on the
basics of action research which is essential to know the roots of the problems of
learning gaps especially in reading and numeracy. The teachers are also expected
to craft an action research at least one per key stage level on reading and
numeracy. The outputs are to be presented and to be quality assured by the
master teachers in school.
Aside from write shop and workshop, there will be also an orientation and
reorientation on the DepEd’s programs, activities and projects that are essentials
in addressing the learning gap of the learners.
There are also series of talks about Microsoft 365, since almost of the
teachers assigned are newly hired. They need it, especially in making their DepEd
emails and DepEd accounts which is basically needed in uploading, downloading,
attending webinars, and even in browsing in the DepEd and SDO web page.
The activities mentioned above will be attained through small group
discussion, workshop, write shop and FGD. These activities will be a great
opportunity to enhance teachers’ potential in addressing the needs of the
learners.

The modality employed in this training activity to a learning delivery
modality where the instructors and teachers are both physically present
in the training venue, and there are opportunities for active engagement,

iii. Monitoring and Evaluation: For the purpose of reviewing and evaluating the PD
program, the proponent shall coordinate with the PD Program Evaluation
Committee to measure the efficiency, effectiveness, and continued improvement
of the PD program.

iv. Gender and Development Mainstreaming:
The activity ensures that gender perspectives and needs are always
considered in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Likewise,
it seeks to ensure that participants, regardless of gender preference, have
equitable access to, and benefit from the office’s resources and opportunities.
Thus, the Equal Opportunity Principle (EOP) and the promotion of non-
discrimination, fairness and transparency shall be strictly observed, and
gender equality shall overrule in program implementation and management.

v. Minimum Health Standards:


MG teachers, facilitators, and participants shall strictly observe health
protocols such as physical distancing, wearing of face mask/face shield,
frequent washing of hands/sanitizing or disinfecting workplace with alcohol to
help control the spread of infection caused by viruses. They shall also strictly
observe the following:
a. Conduct health breaks/ exercises to boost participants’ immune
systems.
b. Practice respiratory etiquettes such as the use of tissue or the inner
portion of the elbow to cover the nose and mouth when
sneezing/coughing and practice proper disposal of tissue after use.
c. Observe proper personal hygiene and ensure that their offices conduct
daily monitoring and maintain the availability of hand soaps,
sanitizers and disinfectants in restrooms and in entrances and
facilities.
d. Subject everyone to temperature checks using a thermal scanner
prior to entering
e. Those who will have a reading of 37.5⁰ Celsius or above shall be
provided with a surgical face mask and sent to a private screening
area [not the clinic] that shall be set up near the entrance of the
venue where the concerned personnel or visitor can be further
examined, for appropriate management, intervention, or referral.
