An accident or emergency can strike at any
time.

Understanding the fundamental principles of

first aid will help you to make the most
appropriate decisions, whatever the situation.
No matter where you are in the world,
professional medical help may not always be
immediately available.

In most cases, first aid is administered by

bystanders to the accident or emergency, who
are often members of the public.

First aid skills are therefore not just for medical

professionals.
Whatever your current level of first aid
knowledge,

you can learn to make a positive

difference and be there to help
someone,

whether it's a minor incident or a life-

threatening situation.

What is Cardiac Arrest?
Cardiac arrest is a very serious situation when a
person's heart stops beating.

This prevents blood from being pumped around the

person's body, causing the person to become
unresponsive and display abnormal or absent
breathing.

Chennai: , a software engineer was
electrocuted while trying to save a crow
entangled in an electricity cable. The victim was
identified as Ramkumar (28) of
Meenakshipuram in Pallikaranai. He was a
software engineer with CTS in Thoraipakkam.
