Time Allowed: 2 Hours Maximum Marks: 40

General Instructions:
i. This Question paper is divided into five sections-Section A, B, C, D, and E.
ii. All questions are compulsory.
iii. Section-A: Question no. 1 to 5 are very short answer type questions of 2 marks each.
The answer to each question should not exceed 40 words.
iv. Section-B: Question no. 6 to 8 are short answer type questions, carrying 3 marks each.
The answer to each question should not exceed 80 words.
v. Section-C: Question no. 9 and 10 are long answer type questions, carrying 5 marks
Answer to each question should not exceed 120 words.
vi. Section-D: Question no. 11 and 12 are Case-Based questions.
vii Section-E: Question no. 13 is map-based, carrying 3 marks with two parts, 13.1 from
History (2 mark) and 13.2 from Geography (1 mark).
viii. There is no overall choice in the question paper. However, an internal choice has been
provided in a few questions. Only one of the choices in such questions has to be attempted.
ix. In addition to this, separate instructions are given with each section and question,
wherever necessary.

Hitler was fanatically interested in the youth of the country. He felt that a strong Nazi society
could be established only by teaching children Nazi ideology. This required control over the
child both inside and outside school.

What happened in schools under Nazism? All schools were ‘cleansed’ and ‘purified’. This
meant that teachers who were Jews or seen as ‘politically unreliable’ were dismissed.
Children were first segregated: Germans and Jews could not sit together or play together.
Subsequently, ‘undesirable children’ – Jews, the physically handicapped, Gypsies – were
thrown out of schools. And finally, in the 1940s, they were taken to the gas chambers.

The mangrove tidal forests are found in the areas of coasts influenced by tides. Mud and silt
get accumulated on such coasts. Dense mangroves are the common varieties with roots of the
plants submerged underwater. The deltas of the Ganga, the Mahanadi, the Krishna, the
Godavari, and the Kaveri are covered by such vegetation. In the Ganga- Brahmaputra delta,

 Sundari trees are found, which provide durable hard timber. Palm, coconut, keora, agar,
etc., also grow in some parts of the delta. Royal Bengal Tiger is the famous animal in these
forests. Turtles, crocodiles, gharials, and snakes are also found in these forests.
