DISCUSS
SOLID FIGURES
A solid figure is any three-dimensional object or shape. An object or shape that has
measurements for length, width, and height. A solid figure takes up space.
There are three (3) properties that define any three-dimensional solid. These are:
Faces - 6
Vertices – 8
Edges – 12
RECTANGULAR PRISM
Faces - 6 PYRAMID

D. Appli
cation
Group the class into five (5) groups and each group will be given cut card boards
to use in constructing a solid figure.
Instruction: Each group must have one representative; the representative will get
one picture of a solid figure from the teacher. Then they will make a solid figure from
card boards based on the picture they’ve got.
Present it to the class and identify its faces, vertices, and edges.
E. Generalization
IV. Assessment
Instruction: Identify the number of faces, vertices, and edges on the given solid figure.
Answer directly on a whole sheet of paper.
1. Pentagonal Prism
2. Triangular Pyramid
3. Heptagonal Prism
4. Octagonal Prism
5. Rectangular Pyramid
V. Assignment
Instruction: On a piece of bond paper draw a scenery using solid figures and color it
with your coloring materials.
