3. Method Statement for Internal Painting Works


1.3. Scope:
After completion of preparatory works such as the installation of block, plaster preparation,
plaster works and then the painting works will then carried out. In this article will show the
procedure on how painting activities will be done.

2.3. Authority & Responsibility:


• Project Manager: Overall responsibility.
• Construction Manager: Responsible for site works and reports to Project Manager.
• Surveyor: Responsible for all the land surveying works to provide the true lines, levels and
grades shown on the approved foundation drawings.
• Civil Supervisors: Report to Civil Engineer
• Foreman: Reports to Civil Supervisor.
• Labors/ Helpers: Responsible to give correct signals to the operators of vehicles and Machines
and concrete pouring.
• QC Engineer: Reporting to QA Manager
• HSE Manager: Ensures safe environmental working conditions for all employees.

3.3. Materials and equipment:


3.3.1. Materials used:
 High quality toothpaste
 Internal emulsion paint
 Water
 Sealer (insulating substance)

4.3. Procedure:
4.3.1. Material storage
 The material which not in actual use is covered and stored in a safe area protected from
dirt, Moisture and direct sunlight
 Remove oily rags and waste daily
4.3.2. Preparation:
• The surfaces that will be whitened shall be clean and free from dust and greases
• Spacing effects of salting. Wires and bolts must be removed
• The building ramps must be 1 cm deep and the concrete surfaces if they are not rough
• should be scratched, hammered or painted with a chemical approved for gluing
• Masonry components must be finely tuned for each mixture and mix thoroughly until they are
homogeneous in color
• All mixtures must be used within 30 minutes of mixing with water
• The contractor shall carry out samples for each type of internal and external whiteness in a
suitable location on the site, provided that the area of each sample shall not be less than 1 m
• The lining shall be sufficient to withstand the layer of plaster. The minimum thickness shall be
15mm thickness
• All types of internal whiteness works on three layers of thickness of not less than 20 mm
• After the roofs and ceilings are finished, the public ditching, pits, tendons, and treatment are
carried out
• All roof and wall surfaces are sprayed with water and the liner between the strings is applied
and re- placed When the liner layer is about to be hardened and the final layer is treated as well
as kept moist for 3 days.

4.3.3. Cleanup & protection


 During the work we should remove rubbish cans and rags in the end of the day
 Remove the spattered paint by proper methods of washing
 Protect work against damages, correct any damages by cleaning, repairing, and replacing

5.3. Health and safety


1. Remove portable lamps and heaters from the area  Make sure painting is done away
from naked flames, sparks, non-explosion proof motors or any other source of ignition.
2. Make sure approved respirator, eye goggles and any other protective equipment required
for the job are worn.
3. MSDS (material safety data sheet) shall be displayed at work location.
