PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learners shall be able to care for and maintain crops.
COMPETENCY:
The learner will be able to identify the types of pests, collect the samples of common insects and pest
found in garden and perform monitoring of pest incidence based on prescribed procedures.

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

Arthropods include insects, arachnids, and crustaceans. There are more kinds of
beetles in the world than any other type of animal, invertebrate or otherwise. Arthropods is a
phylum that includes insects and spiders. They are invertebrates, which means they do not
have an internal skeleton and backbone.
