PART I: ORIENTATION DESIGN

Title of the Program: BALIWASAN DISTRICT RESEARCH ORIENTATION

Participants and Profile: 35 (Principals, Research Comittee)

Rationale:

Pursuant to Regional Memo no. 85 s. 2023 re Regional Management Research Guidelines which was released on February 17, 2023, the Department of Education
upholds the vital role of research in improving the delivery of quality basic education to learners. This is in accordance with this, the department issued DepEd Order No.
39, s, 2016 (Adoption of the Baisc Management Guidelines) as policies promoting the culture of research and managing research initiatives to improve support mechanisms
in capacity building diseminaiton, utilizaiton, and avocacy.

In adherence to this order, the Baliwasan Distict will conduct a half day District Research Orientation on April 26 , 2023. The Orientation, as a form of professional
development, sets out to meet particular needs of strengthening the research culture of the school heads and teachers . It aims to capacitate the school heads and teachers in
conducting Basic and Action researches. School Heads and Teachers need to be updated with the latest guidelines in relation to research writing.

The Orientation will update the participants on the following topics: Regional Research Management Guidelines
(Regional Memorandum 85, s. 2023, Research Quality Control, Research Guidelines, Annexes 1 & 2 - Self- Assessment Tool for Action Research, Annex 2 & 4 - Self-
Assessment Tool for Basic Research, Annex 5 - Manuscript Review Form, Annex 6 – Research Flow Chart, Annex 7 – Rubric for Evaluating Action Research Paper, Annex
8 - Rubric for Evaluating Basic Research Paper, Annex 9 – Rubric for Evaluating Poster Presentation and Chicago Manual of Styles as Modified. These are the present needs
of the school heads and teachers that the District needs to address.
 Finally, the Orientation will result to quality research outputs in the district. It will motivate the school heads and teachers to apply their knowledge to make the
conduct of research more meaningful, accurate and successful.
