A SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:
A. Identify and define the four types of sentences.
B. Show an interest in learning about the four types of sentences.
C. Construct correct short sentences.

II. Subject Matter


A. Topic: Types of Sentences
B. Materials: Power point presentation, Laptop, and TV.
C. Reference: https://youtube.be/WYnpf44ojFU?feature=shared
D. Values: (1) Unity and teamwork and (2) able to place the appropriate
punctuation at the end of a sentence.

III. Preliminary Activities


A. Prayer
B. Greetings
C. Checking of Attendance

IV. Motivation
Arrange the jumbled words to form a sentence.

V. Activity
To begin the lesson, the teacher will flash a simple declarative sentence on the
TV and will let the students read the sentence. Then, she will change the
punctuation mark and the students will read again and observe the changes of
the tone of the sentence.

VI. Analysis
(The teacher will ask the students referring to the pervious activity)
 How many sentences that you observe from our activity?
 Did you observe the changes of the tone of the sentence?
 Did the punctuation marks change the meaning of each sentence?
 What do you think our topic for today?

VII. Abstraction
The teacher will introduce and discuss the topic and will explain further by
providing a sample scenario to her students. The teacher will also ask some
examples to her students. She will let her students to identify what type of
sentence was used in a sentence.

VIII. Application
A. Oral recitation (individual)
The teacher will choose a student to answer the given task through an online
claw machine.
B. Construct a declarative, interrogative, imperative and exclamatory sentences
from the picture shown below.

IX. Evaluation
Read each sentence and carefully identify their function. Write DS if the sentence
is Declarative, IS if it is Interrogative, IM if it is Imperative and ES if it is
Exclamatory.

X. Assignment
Study in advance about the Singular and Plural Nouns.
