I. SKILL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET
1. From the list above, referring to column 2, list your top five favorite skills that you would most
enjoy utilizing in your work (even if you are not proficient at them yet). Include the main skill
category.
2. Which of the favorite skills listed above do you consider strengths or things that you are very
good at (both column 1 and 2 would probably be marked). Include the main skill category.
This activity helps you match your interests with types of careers. For each of the 86 items
below, choose the letter of the activity you would rather do and write them down on a
piece of paper. It doesn’t matter if you like both of them a lot or dislike both of them a lot;
just pick the one you would rather do, and circle that letter.
Step 2: Now write down the two letters with the most responses. These are your top areas of
career interest. (If you have a tie, list three.)
Step 3: Read the description of your top area of career interest on the following page. Record
your interest and the Career Cluster it is listed under.
Read each value in the table below and decide if it is always important to you, sort of
important or not important to you. Place an “X” in the appropriate box. The definition
is there to help you think about the value. If your definition is different, use your own
definition when rating the value.
So, there were 6 self-assessment tools, for self-assessment tools alone you will have 120
points and the additional 30 points is for electronic portfolio making.
