Reasons/Justification
Mobile Legends, a popular mobile game, has become a prevalent form of entertainment
among people. The mobile multiplayer online battle arena game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
was created and released by Moonton, a ByteDance subsidiary. The game gained popularity
after its release in 2016, particularly in Southeast Asia. With more than 100 million

effects of Mobile Legends on their children's personal lives and academic performance. This
knowledge will enable parents to engage in informed discussions, set appropriate boundaries,
and provide necessary support to their children regarding mobile gaming habits.
3. Informing Educators and Teachers: The research outcomes will offer valuable insights to
educators and teachers regarding the influence of Mobile Legends on students' academic
performance. This information can assist in the development of educational strategies that
accommodate students' gaming interests while maintaining focus on their learning outcomes.
Examining the Impact of Bullying on Psychological Well-being
and Academic Performance among ValNat Grade 11 Senior High
School Students: A Qualitative Study"
Justification for Choosing the Title:
Bullying is a persistent and purposeful abuse of power within relationships, characterized by
repetitive actions involving verbal, physical, or social behavior, with the aim of inflicting
physical, social, or psychological damage (Definition of Bullying | National Centre Against
Bullying, n.d.). Bullying greatly affect the students life and may impair their academic
performance as what Tan and Tan (2020) stated, bullying has a significant impact on
students' academic performance. Victims of bullying struggle to focus on their studies due to
the fear of their bullies retaliating if they succeed academically or improve their appearance.
This fear causes them undue stress and affects their ability to concentrate. Some victims
even resort to skipping school to avoid abuse, leading to poor attendance and missed
classes. The constant fear of encountering bullies prevents victims from engaging in normal
activities and lowers their self-confidence.
Bullying has emerged as a significant concern in educational settings, with detrimental
effects on the psychological well-being and academic performance of students. Research has
consistently shown that bullying experiences can lead to various negative outcomes,
including increased levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and decreased academic
achievement (Juvonen et al., 2003). Therefore, it is crucial to investigate the effects of
bullying specifically among ValNat Grade 11 senior high school students to understand the
local context and develop targeted interventions.
Expected Contribution to the Growth of Knowledge in Education:
For Parents:
The findings of this study will provide parents with valuable insights into the impact of bullying on the
psychological well-being and academic performance of1 senior high school students. By understanding the
specific challenges faced by their children, parents can play an active role in supporting and advocating
for their well-being. The research will empower parents with knowledge and resources to address bullying
effectively, promote positive mental health, and enhance their children's academic success.
For Students:
ValNat Grade 11 senior high school students will directly benefit from this study by gaining a deeper
understanding of the effects of bullying on their psychological well-being and academic performance. The
research will provide validation to their experiences and shed light on the potential consequences of
bullying. By raising awareness and providing strategies for coping and seeking support, the findings will
empower students to navigate the challenges of bullying and foster resilience, well-being, and academic
achievement.
For Teachers:
Teachers will greatly benefit from this study as it will enhance their understanding of the impact of
bullying on the psychological well-being and academic performance of ValNat Grade 11 senior high school

strategies, create a safe and supportive classroom environment, and implement effective anti-bullying
initiatives. The research will equip teachers with the tools to address bullying effectively, support student
well-being, and promote optimal learning outcomes.
