Positive Stress Management is a book written by Peter E Makin and Patricia A Lindley published
in 1991. The book suggests on how we can cope with pressure and reduce stress. In this book
there are 7 best stress management tools provide by Peter and Patricia. A thorough explanations
and multiple practical tips were also included to guide the readers on how they should cope and
manage their stress and get most out of it.

As a teacher especially in suburban areas where we have multiples of responsibilities, we need to


acknowledge our stress and pressure. By doing so we’re able to identify the sources, keep up with
it and make most out it. Managing time effectively also shown a positive result towards balancing
work and home life. As a teacher and employee to ministry of education we can’t run from
different type of task that have been assign to all of us. But we need to be selective. Being able to
say no at some points will help us to manage pressure in a work place effectively. A part from that
we must make sometimes to keep our body healthy and fit to cope with stress. This includes
eating for health and exercise for stamina, suppleness and strength. Moreover, we should be
accurate and positive about our performance and stay in control. Thus, it could help us on how to
think positive and to get a fair and accurate assessment of performance. Last but not least, we
should know how to build, use and give support. In a big organization like school, stress
management is simply about ways and means of supporting yourself. Trust me we all have and
use a great variety of supports. The best copers among us tend to have more supports than
others and make more active use of these supports. In conclusion, positive stress management
outlines 7 steps that we practice in order to cope and reduce stress.
