‘Dare to Lead’ book was written by Dr Brene Brown in 2018. In this book Dr Brown defines a
leader as anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes and
who has the courage to develop that potential. There are 7 qualities a leader must have
mentioned in this book.

As a teacher, I can resonate with the book as it broadened how I perceive, work, and lead.
Developing a deeper understanding of vulnerability through empathy and trust can further
influence my collaboration with other teachers. In day-to-day work life, it has opened up different
avenues in my approach to how I communicate with others. I have learned accepting and
analyzing feedback can be a difficult skill to master. It is crucial to take a step back and evaluate
current practices to find room for improvement that meets individual values and standards of best
practice. From the knowledge I have gained, I am learning to cultivate my skills to become an
effective and excellent leader.
