I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between
faults and earthquakes.
B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to participate in decision making on where to
build structures based on knowledge of the location of active faults in the
community and make an emergency plan and prepare an emergency kit for
use at home and in school.
Learners will be able to:

IV. PROCEDURES Materials


A. ELICIT Strategy: EARTHQUAKE DRILL EVALUATION
The teacher asks the students to recall the earthquake
drill that was conducted for the past months. The PowerPoint
students are asked to rate their actions/performance Presentation
during the said drill and explain it. They are also asked
to give suggestions on how to improve the earthquake
drill in the school.

B. ENGAGE Strategy: VIDEO PRESENTATION


The teacher presents a video of Project DINA (Disaster
Information for Nationwide Awareness) about YouTube video
Earthquake Preparedness.

C. EXPLORE Strategy: LET’S ACT IT!


The students are to create a skit about the safety Students

D. EXPLAIN Strategy: DISCUSSION

The students are asked to prepare a survival kit by
group which includes all the things they can use during Emergency bag

explain the use of each thing.

List down 5 precautionary measures before an

G. EXTEND Strategy: ASSIGNMENT


Make a reminder of Earthquake Preparedness. Write Cartolina,
down all the reminders before, during and after the coloring
earthquake on a white cartolina. materials, marker

V. REFLECTION
Earthquake drill is very important to always remind the students the things
to do if such disaster happens, for survival.
