RED LINE (RED MARKED) DRAWING:

Any change according to site situation in drawing which is not as per IFC is shown with red marked
lines is called RED LINE DRWAING.
ISOMETRIC DRAWING:
A three dimensional (3D) drawings showing the details of pipng is called isometric drawing.
AS BUILT DRAWING:
As built drawings are usually the original design drawings revised to reflect any
changes made in the field according to red line drawings.

If two pipe lines one for potable water & the other for drainage/sewer are required
to pass through parallel to each other & the space is less than 300mm, how will
you lay down the piping to avoid the standard violation?
In such case first lay drainage pipe in the trench and backfill it, then excavate on the side,
away from the center line of drainage pipe and lay the water pipe.

If pipe line is crossing the road how to protect the piping on road crossing?
The minimum depth of the piping shall be 900mm and it will be protected by concrete up
to 3m on both sides.
How to protect the piping from direct contact of concrete?
Pipe shall wrapped by DENSO tape to prevent the direct contact of concrete with pipe.
How can you check the slope of drainage pipe with the help of survey report?
At survey report both high end elevation & lower end elevation are given, by calculating
the difference in elevation level 7 dividing with total length of piping & then multiplying
with 100.
Example. High end (400mm or 0.4m), Low end (300mm or 0.3m), total length of pipe
20m. X-Y/20 x100
0.4 – 0.3/20 x100 = 0.5%
What is the back flow preventer?
Backflow Preventer – A device or means to prevent backflow into the potable water
system.
What is a fixture branch?
Fixture Branch – A water supply pipe between the fixture supply pipe and the water
distributing pipe.

What is the Fixture Drain?

Fixture Drain – The drain from the trap of a fixture to the junction of that drain with any
other drain pipe.

What is fixture supply?

Fixture Supply – A water supply pipe connecting the fixture with the fixture branch.

What is the flood Level Rim?

Flood Level Rim – The top edge of a receptor from which water overflows.

What is the down point?

Downspout – The rain leader from the roof to the building storm drain, combined building
sewer, or other means of disposal located outside of the building.

What is an interceptor?
Interceptor (Clarifier) – A device designed and installed so as to separate and retain
deleterious, hazardous, or undesirable matter from normal wastes and permit normal
sewage or liquid wastes to discharge into the disposal terminal by gravity.

What is a trap (P-Trap)?

A device or fitting to provide a liquid seal which will prevent the back passage of unwanted
air without affecting the flow of sewage.
