Title: A report on, Lalbagh botanical garden plastic waste disposal and
cleaning activity.

- Introduction :-

Our community service project, organized by groups from CMR


College, focused on the responsible disposal and removal of plastic
waste at Lalbagh Botanical Garden. This report outlines the
collaborative efforts undertaken by different groups, contributing to
a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
- Group organisation :-
Formation of teams: formed a team as 10 students in a
group and ‘Bhumi’ distributed us gloves and dustbin covers so
we could pick and waste plastic and dump into it and for each
team 4 dustbin covers were given.

Task allocation:
We were all assigned a task to collect the plastic into the
disposable covers.

- Activities :-
. Waste disposal strategy:
Developed a systematic waste disposal strategy to ensure the
effective and responsible handling of collected plastic.

Collaboration and authorities:


Collaboration with Lalbagh botanical garden authorities for
waste disposal and logistic.

- Result’s :-
Quantifiable impact:
Documented the quantity of plastic waste were disposed of
responsibly and the areas covered by each group the pictures
will be posted below.

Group participation:
We were participated group wise so we can collect the waste
plastic efficiently.

Waste storing:
Emphasized the proper storing of waste.
They can reduce the usage of plastic as follow;

Promote Alternatives:
Encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives like reusable
bags, containers, and water bottles through awareness
campaigns.

Ban Single-Use Plastics:


Advocate for or implement policies to restrict or ban single-
use plastics in and around Lalbagh Garden.

Collaborate with Businesses:


Partner with local businesses to reduce plastic packaging and
encourage sustainable practices.

Education Programs:
Integrate environmental education in schools and communities
to instill the importance of reducing plastic use.

Incentives for Alternatives:


Provide incentives for businesses and individuals adopting
sustainable practices, such as discounts for using reusable
items.

- Conclusion :-
The collaborative efforts of CMR College students in disposing
and picking plastic waste at Lalbagh Botanical Garden were
instrumental in fostering a cleaner and more sustainable
environment. By working together and implementing
responsible waste management practices, we not only
contributed to the immediate improvement of the garden but
also promoted a sense of environmental responsibility among
our group members. Ongoing initiatives and partnerships with
local authorities are crucial to sustaining the positive impact
achieved during this community service program.
