In Algebra, decimals are one of the types of numbers, which has a
whole number and the fractional part separated by a decimal point.

The dot present between the whole number and fractions part is called
the decimal point.

D. Discussing new concepts and Decimals are added and subtracted just like whole numbers, align the
practicing new skills # 1 decimal points, add or subtract the numbers in columns and insert the
decimal point in the answer immediately beneath the decimal points in the
numbers being added or subtracted.

Addition of Decimals

Examples:
1. 0.005+9.684
2. 34.095+8.68

Using the Place Value Table:

1. Write the addends on the place value table.
2. Align the decimal points then proceed to addition process.

Aside from using the place value table, we can also add and subtract by just
aligning the decimal points and the digits of the number we add or subtract.

Examples:
1. 0.005+9.684
