20240218 – CLAY TARGET SHOOTING DAY - JOINING INSTRUCTION

Situation
1. You have been selected for a space on Sector 5’s Clay Target Shooting Day at Altcar
Training Camp on Sunday 18th February 2024.

Execution
1. Transport. Transport will be provided. Personnel should make their way to and from their
respective pick-up locations at appropriate times. Transport will be provided via coach. This
will pick up & drop off from two locations.

• Pick-up 1
i. Location- 2056 (Knutsford) Squadron, Cadet Training Centre, 2056
Knutsford Squadron RAFAC, Blackhill Ln, Knutsford WA16 9DB
ii. Timings- Arrive no later than 0630hrs for a 0640hrs departure.

• Pick-up 2
i. Location- 70 (Croft & Culcheth) Squadron, LXX House, Mustard Ln, Croft,
Warrington WA3 7BQ
ii. Timings- Arrive no later than 0710hrs for an approx. 0720hrs departure.

• Units at each pick up location. Cadets will be expected at the location


corresponding to their unit listed below.

i. Pick up 1 at 2056 SQN HQ


1. 2056 (Knutsford) Squadron
2. 2137 (Lymm) Squadron

ii. Pick up 2 at 70 SQN HQ


1. 70 (Croft & Culcheth) Squadron
2. 316 (Leigh) Squadron
3. 1099 (Worsley) Squadron
4. 1330 (Warrington) Squadron

• Return travel is scheduled to leave Altcar at 1530hrs. Cadets will be dropped off at
the same locations as picked up from. Estimated arrival times are below and will be
confirmed by message from cadets on the day. Note that delays in collecting cadets
from pick up locations will disrupt onward journeys for other attendees.

i. 70 SQN HQ – approx. 1620hrs


ii. 2056 SQN HQ – Approx 1710hrs

• Any attendee wishing to travel by means other than the above is to request
this through the activity IC NLT Mon 12 Feb.
2. Standards of Dress. Given the nature of the activity being undertaken, the following dress
standards will apply to participating students and DS IAW AP 1358C:
• Uniformed CFAV – PCS CU MTP
• Non-Uniformed CFAV (CIs) – Suitable outdoor clothing.
• Cadets – PCS CU MTP

3. Personal Kit. Attendees are to bring the following kit:


a. Packed Lunch + Snacks
b. Enough fluids to last the day.
c. Cadets - RAF Form 3822 (ATC Record of Service) / My RAFAC App
d. CFAV – MOD 90 / PhotoID
e. Warm Layers
i. Fleece/Jumper
ii. Gloves
iii. Warm Hat
f. Waterproofs
g. Any medication required.
h. £20 activity fee. This should be brought as cash.

4. Leaving the activity area early. No cadet, DS is permitted to leave the activity area
without informing the IC Activity.
