CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT

Nowadays, a lot of teenagers have created a hobby that is idolized and

exercised by many. a hobby that changes their lives instantly. Teenagers made
an impulsive decision about something that they were ignorant of. Engaging in
premarital sex without even thinking about the possible consequences it may
bring. It was like a metaphor that says, "Curiosity killed the cat."
In this time of crisis, specifically when COVID-19 arises in our country, one of
the problems that unexpectedly became a hobby were some of the teenagers
that engaged themselves in pre-marital sex, which leads to early pregnancy or
what is most commonly called teenage pregnancy, out of boredom. Due to
being locked up in our houses, some teenage students tend to do some nasty
things without even thinking about the possible consequences of their actions.
A good example of this problem were the numerous teenagers who became
pregnant during the pandemic. In an instant, they became someone they
weren't prepared for or didn't want to be. Even some of my classmates and
neighbors were examples of this issue.
But the question is why do people engage themselves into this kind of thing?
Definitely because of the belief that early pregnancy will allow them to
experience being a mother at an early age and the satisfaction of having a child
that is almost the same age as you. Which in turn, it will let them experience a
more joyful life because like their children they can easily go with the flow to
the trends now. The other factor is the fact that early pregnancy is now
considered acceptable and normal in our society. Teenagers are now more
liberated not like the old times where they didn't even let themselves be
touched by men, and the humor of being a girl like Maria Clara. But now you
may barely see those girls who act like one. Teenagers tend to explore on
something what is popular and new to their way of living which in turn leads
them to their own destruction.
I am against with this issue because sometimes teenagers choose to abort
their baby or an innocent child just because of the stupid reason that they
aren't ready to be "moms" or just to avoid scandalous happenings because,
truth be told, they are ashamed of what they've already done. They didn't even
think twice about killing their own flesh, let alone realize how precious their
lives were. They already commit a mortal sin by violating the 10
commandments, including "You shall not kill." In short, at that age, they
became mortal sinners that they will bear until their last breath. All of them
who did that kind of thing didn't even become people who were responsible
enough with their actions.
This social issue tells us to be responsible enough in our actions. We should
also think wisely or holistically before making a decision, because, just like
some of the teenagers have done, in the end they regret what they did, which
sometimes led them to do some inhuman acts or immoral things. This issue
also encourages all of us to gain more knowledge or wisdom in many things, or
to be open-minded about the reality of life, so that we can use it as a weapon to
overcome the challenges that life may bring, or, in short, for us to be strong or
ready enough to face those struggles or challenges that we humans may
encounter. as well as being cautious in every action we take so that we can
avoid doing things that we would regret. All in all, this issue only confirms that.
Having a HOLISTIC MIND / PERSPECTIVE is such a great weapon that we
humans must have!!!
