Service Information Subject: Change of Central Controller on YEWS-E &
YGWS

Background:
Previously, XS08-002 central controller was used on original YEWS-E & YGWS units. Because of

supplier switching, a new style of central controller is developed. It is named XS09. From Jun. 19, 2016,

XS09 central controller is supplied in new production of all YEWS-E & YGWS units.

I. XS09 vs XS08-002
XS09 has some components which are different from those of XS08-002, but its installation
dimension and interface are completely identical to those of XS08-002. Please see figures 1, 2 & 3.

II. Matters Needing Attention When Using XS09 to Replace XS08-002

1. Hardware
XS09 is applicable to different keypad. When XS09 is used to replace XS08-002 in field, the original

keypad also needs to be replaced. The P/N of new keypad is 025W43786-016. It comes with the flat cable.

The mounting dimension of the new keypad remains the same.

2. Software
When XS09 substitutes for XS08-002, the software on micro-board needs to be upgraded to the

following versions or later if it is lower than the following versions, or the micro-board software will not

compatible to the new central controller and communications fault will occur.

YEWS-E with single compressor (including YEWS250) RMSYEWS-E V5.01

YEWS-E with dual compressors RMMYEWSE-T V4.01

YGWS RMSYGWS V2.00

III. Software Upgrade

The new central controller comes with its software, so we only need to upgrade the software on

micro-board with DL03 program downloader when replacing the central controller.
DL03 program downloader includes the following components:
1. A downloader

 2. A connection from the downloader to micro-board
3. A connection from the downloader to central controller

Steps of Software Upgrade :

1) Connect the downloader-micro-board connection with the downloader, as shown in figure 7.

2) De-energize the micro-board. Place the jumper onto JP7. See figures 8a and 8b.

3) Remove the communications wires to central controller from the micro-board. Connect the
downloader to the communications port of the micro-board. Power on.
At this time, the downloader begins to load the software onto the micro-board. During this process,
the BUSY indicator on the downloader is always lit. About 8 ~ 10 seconds later, the micro-board software
loading is completed. The BUSY indicator flickers once every 2 seconds and the COM lamp is
extinguished. Power off. Remove the downloader from the micro-board. Re-connect the communications
wires from central controller to the micro-board. Remove the jumper on JP7 and place it on pins 2 & 3 on
the right of JP1.

※ Notes on using DL03 program downloader：

1. When plugging and unplugging the connectors of the downloader, please do not pull them

with large force to avoid loose or even broken connection bewteen the connectors and wires.

2. After the work is completed, please take good care of the downloader. Please do not have it

contact with oil stains or corrosive substances to avoid it from failure.

3. Please do not try to change the wiring sequence of the downloader converter to avoid the

downloader from failure.
