READING REPORT in PROED8: Facilitating Learner-Centered Teaching

(Course Code & Description)
Date: May 23, 2023

The title of the book/ article I have read is: THE 7 ROLES OF A TEACHER IN THE 21ST CENTURY

AUTHOR’S LOGIC: The author is conveying the message/idea of:

Example: “Green” branding of businesses has gone too far and no longer carries the same sort of impact it once did.
Today, so many people are concerned with the environment that many businesses try to represent themselves as being
“green.” They want to have a reputation for being environmentally conscious.
In the 21st century classroom, teachers are facilitators of student learning and creators of productive
classroom environments, in which students can develop the skills they might need at present or in
future.____________________________________________________________

STUDENT’S LOGIC: Provides learners with an opportunity to reflect and think about how they actually
solve problems and how a particular set of problem solving strategies is appropriate for achieving their goal.
What is to be accomplished/learned?
Example: In support of the Supermarket “Green” initiatives, I bring my own shopping bags for grocery shopping and
say no to plastic bags.

As future educator I will focus on my students’ learning and development and make them feel that
learning in school is enjoyable and full of knowledge. _______________________

The fundamental premise of being a teacher is to add value to the learning of each student in your
care. The act of teaching should be able to focus on enabling students to learn more than they would on
their own, and to improve the possibilities that each student can realize their potential regardless of
their situation in life. Teachers are facilitators of student learning and creators of productive classroom
environments, in which students can develop the skills they might need at present or in future.

AUTHOR’S LOGIC: The author is conveying the message/idea of:

Today, so many people are concerned with the environment that many businesses try to represent themselves as being

Community is a part of the society and education is the counterpart of both the above-mentioned
elements. School is the social institution where consciously designed learning experiences are provided
with the objectives of achieving social aim at large, over a period of time. School is also defined as a
subsystem of the larger system of the society. It has to functionally coordinate with its immediate
environment, the community in which it is situated.

STUDENT’S LOGIC: Provides learners with an opportunity to reflect and think about how they actually

What is to be accomplished/learned?
Example: In support of the Supermarket “Green” initiatives, I bring my own shopping bags for grocery shopping and
say no to plastic bags.

As future educator I will connect to the community and be able to be an active part of the community.

Teachers have an enormous impact on our students and our communities. Shaping the minds of
children is no small feat. Some educators take their devotion to teaching a step further by becoming
teacher leaders. Teacher leaders take on various roles. They collaborate, research, innovate, mentor
and advise, among numerous other responsibilities. While teacher leadership takes on many forms, one
thing is for certain: Teacher leaders are making a concrete difference in our schools and communities.
