SCHOOL PROPOSAL

I. TITLE : Coping with Stress at Work

Date : 17 March 2021
TIME : 1 O’clock P.M.
VENUE : Kinder Classroom, Sumader Elementary School

I. BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

The impact of work stress on teachers varies. Some are more resilient than others.
This may be because they have different levels of support available to them. Let us face
the truth; mental health education for new teachers in the service is not enough.
Something has to be done to help all teachers deal with the symptoms of stress.
Teachers need help to identify early signs of burn out and access to good skilled support,
which can help them continue their work as teachers.

On this matter, The Department of Education (DepEd) urged to address work-related

causes of stress among teachers. Aside from the adjustment that they need to do with
the learning delivery modalities, he noted that printing and distributing modules under
vulnerable conditions as well as working until the wee hours while making reports and
addressing students’ and parents’ concerns take a toll on their overall well-being.

To support the said program of DepEd and to give response on these concerns,
Sumader Elementary School under the leadership of Mrs. Mely E. Repollo plans to
conduct a sumptuous session to improve learning outcomes through living healthy
lifestyle and be able conquer stress.

II. OVERVIEW
The proposed LAC Session will be conducted in the school to be participated by the 7
teachers and school head of the school on March 17, 2021 at 1:00 MM at the
Kindergarten Room.
The tenacity of this LAC Session is for the teachers’ able handle stress at work and
able to work happily and relaxed at the same time.
Ms. Phoebe Ruth S. Gabriel, LAC coordinator will serve as the organizer and speaker
of the said activity. It will be a face-to-face session in a spacious area within the school.

III. OBJECTIVES

Terminal Objectives
At the end of the LAC session, the participants should be able to acquire the following:
a. have knowledge on the common sources of stress at work; and
b. active participation on the Mindful Breathing Stress Debriefing Exercises)
Enabling Objectives
At the end of the LAC session, the participants are expected to:
a. identify the common source of stress at work and ways to manage stress
b. identify the harmful effects of stress
c. gain sufficient knowledge on coping stress at work
