LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 6

3rd Quarter
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to,
A. describe the different forms of energy;
B. cite some forms of energy present in various activities; and
C. realize the importance of the different forms of energy in daily living.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Forms of Energy

Reference: https://depedtambayan.net/grade-6-science-module-
energy- transformation/ & cyberscience worktext in science and
technology.
Skills: critical thinking, logical thinking, creative thinking
Values Integration: “Without energy, we cannot work. Without work, we cannot
live”
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Fill the pail with water until almost full.
2. Throw the stone into the pail of water.
3. Observe what form of energy is present when you threw the ball and when it
hit the water.

Analysis Questions:
Let’s do this way!

1. Put your fingers on your neck and say, “Hello! How are you?”. Observe what happens in your
vocal cord inside your neck while talking.
2. What are the temperature readings of your palms?

Before rubbing __________

After rubbing __________

3. What did you feel after rubbing your palms for 30 seconds?

4. List down activities you do daily which makes use of your muscles’ energy.

B. Activities

Dividing the students into two. Each group should answer the given activity.

What we
know about
ENERGY
C. Analysis
Write T if the statement is true, F if the statement is False.
1. Energy is not the ability to do work or cause change.
2. Energy cannot give the power in everything around us.
3. Energy cannot be created or destroyed.
4. Energy plays a crucial role in the functioning of the universe, from the movement of the planets.
5. Energy is not important for living organisms to grow, move and carry out their life processes.

D. Abstraction

It is the ability to do work.

What is Energy?

This energy is the sum of energy in motion and

What is Mechanical Energy?
stored energy in objects.

This energy is possessed by moving electrons.

What is Electrical Energy?

This energy is stored in molecules or atoms.

What is Chemical Energy?

This is an energy in transit (transferred from one

What is Heat Energy?
body to another).

It is the energy due to the movement of

What is Thermal Energy?
molecules.

This energy is produced by vibrating objects.

What is Sound Energy?

What is light Energy? This energy is a form of electromagnetic

radiation that travels through empty space.
E. Application

Instructions: Match the form of energy in column A

with the examples in column B. Write the letters
only.
Column A Column B
Form of Energy Objects which
possess

IV. Evaluation
Sources of Energy
In the previous activity, you have learned that you can obtain energy from the food you eat.
Food, however, is not the only source of energy. The table below shows the different forms of
energy. Write at least 2 possible sources of each form of energy. An example is given as your
guide for this task.
Forms of Energy Possible Sources

1. Light Candle

2. Sound

3. Heat

4. Electrical

5. Mechanical

6. Chemical

Forms of Energy Possible Sources

1. Light Candle, bulb, Sun,

2. Sound Radio, guitar, drums,

violin, television
3. Heat violin, television

4. Electrical Nuclear power plants,

fossil fuels, solar
energy,
biomass, geothermal,
hydroelectric energy
5. Mechanical Water falls,
windmill, flowing
river
6. Chemical Wood, coal, gasoline

I. Reflection
A .No.of learners who earned 80%
in the evaluation.
B. No.of learners who requires additional
acts.for remediation who
scored below 80%.
C. Did the remedial lessons work?
No.of learners who caught up with the
lessons.
D. No.of learners who continue to
require remediation.
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did this
work?)
F. What difficulties did I encounter with
my students?
