LET’S
RECAP!
Learning Objectives
At the end of this discussion:
 The learners should be able to show understanding how respiratory and circulatory system
works together.
 The learners should be able to conduct an information dissemination activity on effective
ways of taking care of the respiratory and circulatory systems.
“Build Me Up”
Directions:
The class will be grouped into 5 groups. Each groups will be
given jumbled letters and construct it to reveal the answers.
Let’s Sing!
Directions:
The teacher will let the students listen to a song and they should fill in the
missing lyrics:

Process Questions:
1. What are the missing lyrics?
2. What body system are the missing words related?
3. What is the function of the missing words?
LET US
EXPLORE!
1. Where are the premature red blood cells located?

2. What does the graduation day of little RBCs (red blood cells) represent?

3. How does enucleation help the mature red blood cells to carry out its function?

4. What are hemopoietic stem cells?

5. What is the role of the macrophages?

6. What does the maze that the children played represent?

EXPLAIN!
What is the role of the red blood
cells based on the video that you
have watched?
01. The Circulatory and Respiratory
System
-work closely together to ensure that organ tissues
receive enough oxygen
-air breathed in and held in the lungs is transferred to
the blood
-blood is circulated by the heart, which pumps the
oxygenated blood from the lungs to the body
01. The Circulatory and Respiratory
System

Two means of transporting the materials into the

blood:

1. Plasma
2. Binding to the RBCs
01. The Circulatory and Respiratory
System

Plasma
Where the blood transport nutrients and hormones by
dissolving it into liquid component of the blood
01. The Circulatory and Respiratory
System

Red Blood Cells

Gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide can only be
transported into the blood plasma through red blood
cells.
01. The Circulatory and Respiratory
System
-Hemoglobin is an iron-containing protein present in
RBCs.
-carries oxygen and carbon dioxide to the different
parts of the body.
-has four subunits that contains iron atom which is
important because it binds to the gas molecules.
-A oxyhemoglobin (hemoglobin that is rich in
oxygen) is a bright red color. While
deoxyhemoglobin (hemoglobin without oxygen) is
purple to bluish.
Activity Time!
Draw your own interpretation of the comparison between the transport
through plasma and red blood cells. After presenting, the teacher will have
a recap and ask the following questions:

1. How does the blood carry all of the different materials to and from the
cells?

2. How do the respiratory and circulatory systems work together to provide

vital materials in the body?
EVALUATION!
1. What are the two systems that work together to bring oxygenated blood to the body's cells?

2. It refers to hemoglobin loaded with oxygen.

3. It transports nutrients, hormones, and proteins to the parts of the body that needs it.

4. What are the two materials that are transported by the red blood cells?

5. Why do humans need oxygen?

Infographic
Make a research on different diseases
involved in respiratory and circulatory
systems around your area and find out what
are the preventions of these diseases. After
gathering the data, make an infographic
about how to effectively take care of your
respiratory and circulatory system. You can
use any medium for the artwork.
