alignment of the interconnect rod, forward attach hole with the
second hole (2nd) from the bottom hole in the FCU actuating lever on
the cambox assembly.. Adjust the position of the FCU lever using the
serrated washer to obtain the correct alignment. Connect the

(g) Move the cockpit power lever forward and return it slowly to the idle
position. Verify that the FCU deadband adjustment screw contacts
the idle cam at the same time that the cockpit lever contacts its idle
stop. Adjust the serrated washer as required.
(h) Mark the serrated washer alignment.
(i) Set the FCU lever into the deadband by moving the serrated washer
Deadband five serrations clockwise relative to the shaft and the lever.
Adjustment NOTE
Screw
The cockpit power lever should be moved slightly forward to make this
adjustment.
(j) Tighten the FCU lever retaining nut.
(k) Tighten the interconnect link attachment fasteners.

(l) Ensure rear beta cable terminal clevis is disconnected from beta cam
by removing cotter pin and linkage pin and washer. This will avoid
Max Reverse damaging the carbon block and push-pull cable.
Stop (m) Move the cockpit power lever from the idle detent towards
reverse until the FCU linkage contacts the Max Reverse Stop and
verify that the top beta cam hole has moved aft by 0.8 in.+ or - .100
in. Adjust the Max Reverse Stop as required to obtain this system
travel.

Reversing Lever
Beta Cable Rigging
(a) Disconnect the front push-pull cable terminal clevis from the
reversing lever.
Reset Lever Note: Check beta system carbon block for wear (Ref Airframe
Manual repair as necessary)

Interconnect Link (b) Remove safeties and loosen jam nut on beta system front push-pull
cable terminal clevis and disconnect the P-Y bleed Interconnect link
from the push-pull terminal.
(c) With forward pressure on the push-pull cable front terminal adjust
the front clevis so that the bottom of the beta valve clevis slot is
even with the end of the beveled front edge of the cap nut.
Push-Pull (d) Adjust the interconnect link attached to the governor P-Y reset lever
Cable to attain a “slip-fit” onto the attach stud on the push-pull cable front
Clevis terminal. The reset lever must have a firm seating on its forward stop
without binding the reversing lever.

(e) Set the cockpit power lever into the mid-forward range. Adjust the
rear beta cable terminal clevis to align with the top beta cam hole.
Rear beta Terminal Lengthen the clevis so that the beta cable is in light compression.
Clevis Note: Ensure beta valve clevis is flush in bevel cap and P-Y reset
lever is firmly on reset lever stop.

(f) Move the cockpit power lever from IDLE to MAXIMUM to confirm
that the cambox follower pin runs smoothly in the beta cam slot and
that the FCU MAX FORWARD stop is contacted with a minimum
of l/8 in. cushion in the cockpit quadrant.

(g) Confirm adequate thread engagement for all power control system
components and tighten all fasteners to the correct torque.

d) Hold the propeller speed select lever firmly against the feather
stop (fully counter-clockwise) and adjust the length of the
terminal connection as required for alignment. Connect the
terminal assembly and verify that it is securely locked.
e) Move the cockpit propeller control lever through the full range
and verify that the governor maximum speed and feather stops
are contacted firmly. There should be a minimum of 1/8” cushion
at the cockpit quadrant when the stops at the propeller governor
are contacted.
f) Tighten all propeller control cable hardware.
Note: Propeller governor speed select levers on new or freshly
overhauled governors may have to be removed from the shaft and
rotated approximately 180 degrees at governor installation. The
Feather Stop Air Tractor Push-Pull Rod attaches to the speed select lever on
the right side of the governor’s installed position as viewed from
the cockpit.
