Sharing is Caring
Session Objectives:
Introduces the concept of sharing
through situations which the children
will be familiar with, such as sharing
toys and taking turns
Key Concept: There are lots of different people that
can be in a family.
One family might have different family
members from another family.
There are so many fun, happy things to
do and share with our families.
Sometimes though, families go
through tough times together.
It’s important to look after each other
when something difficult or sad
happens.
Sometimes, we need to talk to
someone who isn’t in our family and
ask for help when something about our
families is upsetting or worrying us.

Lucien and Poppy are in year 1. They
are playing a game in the playground
together. They are playing catch with a

A group of four children ask if they can
join in because there is only one ball in
the playground.
Lucien and Poppy have the choice to
share or not to share.

because he thinks it will be fun. He

 Balloon Up: Using a
parachute, blanket or table
cloth work together holding
it to keep up a balloon in the
middle. Move as one.
Around the World Bulletin Board-
Make an Earth. Have each child color
+ decorate a person. Glue the people
around the world on a bulletin
board.
Origami Birds
- Create origami birds together to
hang as a mobile or around the room
representing peace.
 The children could make collages of
imaginary families, using people cut out
of magazines and catalogues.
Encourage diversity and ensure there
are no limitations to the family
combinations. Children can add pets to
their collages, too.
