Mini Meditation
- Have children relax, close their

Sharing
Lucien and Poppy are in year 1.
They are playing a game in the
playground together. They are playing
catch with a ball.
A group of four children ask if they can
join in because there is only one ball in
the playground.
Lucien and Poppy have the choice to
share or not to share.
Lucien wants to play with the others
because he thinks it will be fun. He
likes to share toys and play with lots of
other people.
Poppy doesn’t want to share the ball
with them and wants to keep it for
Valuing themselves. She says they found the
ball first so they should get to keep it.
She doesn’t want to play with the
others and only likes playing with one
person at a time.
Questions:
1. What do you think Lucien and
Poppy should do?
2. Why is it important to share?
3. Can you draw how you feel when
someone shares with you?
Read the questions on the cards
with your talk partner and if your

blanket or table cloth work together

around the world on a bulletin board.

- Create origami birds together to
hang as a mobile or around the room
representing peace.

Collage
The children could make collages
of imaginary families, using people
Journal Writing cut out of magazines and
catalogues.
Encourage diversity and ensure
there are no limitations to the
family combinations. Children can
add pets to their collages, too.
