ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVE

The objective of this assignment is to enable you to develop a good understanding of the
theoretical and practical perspectives of instructional technology.

INSTRUCTIONS
This course assignment consists of THREE (3) questions. Answer ALL questions.

QUESTION 1 (40%)

Designing and Developing a Lesson in the Microsoft Office PowerPoint


This assignment question requires you to design a lesson based on Gagne’s Nine Events of
Instruction in a Microsoft Office PowerPoint. You are not required to get students to
participate in your lesson.
Word limit is not applicable as this assignment will have many images. Limit the page
numbers to 8 - 10 pages.

This question has TWO (2) parts. The following steps will guide you:
a) Part I: Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction
1. Provide an overview and describe the components of Gagne’s Nine Events of
Instruction.
2. Refer to Part I in Appendix A.

b) Part II: Applying Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction for a Lesson in the MS
PowerPoint
1. Choose a lesson of your choice.
2. Design your lesson based on Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction.
3. Develop the lesson in MS PowerPoint. Ensure all nine (9) events are addressed through
the elements/activities/materials.

4. Copy and paste the PowerPoint slides in Appendix A. Show the components of Gagne’s
Nine Events of Instructions in the slides. Please ensure that the images of the slides are
clearly shown and not too small (preferably 2 slides per page).
5. Include labels of all the elements/activities/materials in your lesson plan, according
to the components of Gagne’s Nine Events of Instructions.
