B. Minimum Watch Level - 1

Remark 1: Job assignment may be changed as per Chief Engineer’s discretion. Job
assignments deviated from the above table must clearly be informed to the
relevant Engineers & Oiler’s.
Remark 2: Minimum Watch Level 1 must be maintained in the Engine room, as per
criteria listed under item B.
Remark 3: Coastal Passage is defined as a passage where vessel is navigating 20 miles
from the coast line, or 30 minutes of sailing time from grounding line (draft)
whichever is lesser.
Remark 4: Minimum Watch Level 2 must be maintained in the Engine room, as per
criteria listed under item C.
Remark 5: Chief Engineer may set a higher Watch Level, by calling additional Duty
Engineers and / or Oiler’s, when deemed necessary.
Remark 6: In high navigation intensity / collision avoidance situation in the professional
judgment of the Master, the Master may instruct Chief Engineer to set a
higher Watch level than minimum stipulated levels as per above tables.
