ROLE OVERVIEW

The Director, Network Management Services is accountable for the provision of an end-to-end traffic management service and control centre to optimise the
effectiveness of the State Government’s road network.

KEY OUTCOMES

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, business or equivalent.


• Analytical, with the theoretical background necessary to appreciate the nature of traffic behaviour and to undertake analyses required in the development
and assessment of both traffic management plans and road design proposals
• Working knowledge of the frameworks and approaches to regulatory and policy settings, an ability to implement policy directions that balances an efficient
network with industry productivity
• Effective change manager, capable of developing, organising and delivering systematic process improvement and transformation programs; and of
establishing systems and practices that drive performance management and continuous improvement.
• Financially literate, with prior experience in managing operational budgets and delivering efficiency measures and savings outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder engagement and relationships that foster credibility, trust and cooperation.
• Capable of leading, motivating and influencing staff and driving objectives that improve workforce performance. Capacity to lead, model and engage the
workforce to embrace and exhibit organisational values.
• Culturally aware and capable of working with and promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s aspirations to self-determination; and to provide

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

• The role has been identified as a position of trust. The incumbent is subject to employment screening in line with departmental policies and procedures.
• The incumbent will be required to achieve performance targets as negotiated and mutually agreed with the Executive Director.
• Some out of hours and weekend work may be required.
• Some intra / interstate travel including overnight stays may be required.
• May be required to perform duties in other locations/divisions/units depending on Department requirements.
