Competencies: Parts of the House

I. Objectives:

1. Students will be able to identify and name the different parts of a house, such as the living
room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and hallway.
2. Students will be able to describe the function and location of each part of the house.
3. Students will be able to create a simple floor plan of a house.

II. Learning Content:

 Different parts of a house and their functions


 Basic house floor plans

III. Learning Resources/Reference Materials:

 Pictures of different parts of a house


 A blank floor plan template
 A whiteboard and markers

IV. Procedures:

A. Preparation:

 Set up the classroom with pictures of different parts of a house.


 Prepare the blank floor plan template for each student.
 Review the different parts of a house and their functions.

B. Motivation:

 Ask the students to describe their own houses or apartments.


 Show pictures of different houses and ask the students to identify the different parts of
each house.

C. Lesson Proper:

1. Introduce the different parts of a house, such as the living room, kitchen, bathroom,
bedroom, and hallway.
2. Discuss the function and location of each part of the house.
3. Show a basic floor plan of a house and identify the different parts of the house on the
plan.
4. Give each student a blank floor plan template and ask them to create a simple floor plan
of a house.
5. Have the students share their floor plans with the class.

D. Activity:

 In pairs or small groups, have the students create a more detailed floor plan of a house,
including the placement of furniture and appliances.
E. Analysis:

 Discuss the different floor plans created by the students.


 Ask the students to describe the function and location of each part of their floor plan.

F. Assessment:

 Have the students take a quiz on the different parts of a house and their functions.
 Grade the students' floor plans based on accuracy and completeness.

V. Evaluation:

 Evaluate the students based on their participation in class discussions and activities, their
performance on the quiz, and the accuracy and completeness of their floor plans.

 Ask the students to create a floor plan of their own house or apartment, including the
placement of furniture and appliances.
