Why USA?

As an aspiring medical researcher, USA universities provide diverse course options in

biology like biotechnology, biochemistry and biomedicine aligned with my academic and
career goal. Also, these universities organise seminars very often and invite the researcher
from all over the world where I will get a chance to learn from real-world experts of my field.
On top of that, the USA is home for biological research centres, experimental halls and labs
where I can assign myself to get the best out of me.

Why Biology?
I am passionate about biology because of a personal experience during the COVID-19
pandemic. When my grandmother fell ill, I noticed that all the medicines she took were
imported. This made me deeply concerned about the heavy dependence on imported
medicines in Nepal, despite our rich resources. I want to pursue a degree in biology to
become a medical researcher and manufacture medicines locally using our natural
resources. By doing so, I aim to decrease the cost of medication and contribute to the
economic growth of my country.

Why this university?

Besides being selected for the honours program where I can closely work with
professorXXX, her research on production of pharmaceutical medicines using local medical
herbs aligns with my research interest and serves as a driving factor toward this university.I
have also received over 80% of scholarship in tuition fees, which makes it an ideal choice for
me, both academically and financially. Also this university organises a one day program
called biology student colloquium where ug students collaborates with american society for
detailed subtopics like plant physiology which is my area of interest.

Who are your sponsors?

My parents and my grandfather will sponsor my study and stay in the United States. My
father works as a supervisor in Rove of Hotels, Abu Dhabi, earning an annual income of
approximately XXX. My mother owns a tailoring shop(Muskan Ladies Tailors and
Boutique)Putalisadak , generating an annual income of around XXX after deducting taxes
and staff salaries for 2 staff. Additionally, my grandfather owns a house in Koteshwor, which
is given in rent and it generates an annual income of XXX (18 rooms). My parents also have
separated savings of XXX solely for my further studies. We also possess land assets with a
current market value of XXX that can be liquidated if necessary.
Plans after graduation?
After graduating, I'll return back to Nepal and work as a medical laboratory technician
preferably in Mediciti hospital because of its finest diagnostic medical laboratory.
Eventually, I plan to get my grad degree and work as a pharmaceutical researcher in the
National Medicine Laboratory of Nepal which is a government owned laboratory in which
I will aim to focus on producing medicine from local herbs which would make medication
affordable to all and contribute to the economy of my country. I recently discovered my
passion for teaching during an internship and would like to be a part-time teacher alongside
my research work.

How will this course from this university will help you
achieve your career goal?
I have an ambition to become a medical researcher and contribute to the pharmaceutical
sector of my country. Nepal imports millions of pharmaceutical medicine and products from
foreign despite being a nation so rich in medical herbs and resources. Many medicines can
be produced here with better research but this has not been possible due lack of skilled
manpower working under this field. After graduating from this university, I believe that I will
get enough knowledge and skills in medicine production which will help me meet my career
goal.
