Version 1.0

Calculation of Creep coefficient & Shrinkage strain

The standard conditions for both creep and shrinkage are: Table A.1
Age of concrete at load applications, t 0 = 7 days (moist curing)
Ambient relative humidity = 40 percent
Minimum member thickness = 150 mm (average thickness)
Concrete consistency (slump) = 70 mm
Fine aggregate content by weight = 50 percent
Air content = 6 percent
Ultimate creep coefficient, fu = 2.35 Eq. (A-19)
Ultimate shrinkage strain, eshu = 780 x 10-6 Eq. (A-2)

INPUT DATA:

Actual thickness of slab = 75 mm gc,d = 1.00 Eq. (A-27)

Average thickness of members, d = 150 mm gsh,d = 1.00 Eq. (A-10)

The Slump factor:

Slump of fresh concrete, s = 70 mm → gc,s = 1.00 Eq. (A-28)
→ gsh,s = 1.00 Eq. (A-11)

The Fine aggregate factor:

Ratio of fine aggregate to total = 50 % → gc,y = 1.00 Eq. (A-29)
→ gsh,y = 1.00 Eq. (A-22)

The Air content factor:

Air content = 6 % → gc,a = 1.00 Eq. (A-30)
