Fad - are objects or activities that are popular with a group of people over a short period
of time.
Trend - refers to the fashions that are popular at a given point in time.
Croquis- refers to a quick sketch of a figure with a loose drawing of the clothes that are
being designed.
Fit - refers to how clothes fit the body.
Mass production- is the production of large amounts of standardized products in a
constant flow, including and especially on assembly lines.
Bodice - the close-fitting upper part of a dress, covering the chest and back above the
waist.
Trimmings- The raw materials used in sewing room other than fabric
Hues- refer to just the pure spectrum colors.
Couture- is a business of designing, making, and selling highly fashionable, usually
custom-made clothing.
Fashion - the prevailing style (as in dress) during a particular time.
Classic- is a style that lasts for several seasons, sometimes even years, and is accepted by
a wide range of people.
Garment - a piece of clothing.
Apparel- something that covers or adorns, esp outer garments or clothing.
Ready-to-wear - made in standard sizes and available from merchandise in stock.
Style- is usually shorthand for “personal style,” or the way an individual expresses
themselves through aesthetic choices.
