SAN JUAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SUPREME PUPIL GOVERNMENT

YEAR END NARRATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

Academic Year 2022-2023 is a very fulfilling year for San Juan Elementary School
Supreme Pupil Government. Last July 4, 2022, new set of SPG officers were elected by the
pupils from Grade 4. Zian Phoebe Cocamas was the new SPG 2022-2023 President. Days
after these two top officials were sent to the district for the Annual District SPG Federation
Election wherein they both got positions as District Federeation President. The new sets of
officers were presented and inducted by the Principal, Mr. Jasper Ray T. Mancio during the
PTA General Assembly last August 2022.

The elected officers were oriented with the SPG Constitution and By- Laws for them
to fully understand their roles and responsibilities. This was also their first meeting wherein
the action plan for school year 2022-2023 was plotted, discussed and agreed upon. Monthly
meetings were also done to evaluate past activities and prepare for the upcoming ones. Along
with the meetings the adviser also injected leadership inputs.

Various activities were participated and spearheaded by the elected officers under
the leadership of SPG President Zian Phoebe Cocamas guided by their SPG Adviser
Reynaldo A. Parillo Jr. They actively joined and assisted the school on its weeklong
maintenance school activity “Brigada Eskwela” last August 2022. They served as the
registration committee and also had a one-day maintenance activity at the new building.
They also led the Welcome Program and Student Assembly last August 22, 2022. Together
with the new School Principal, Mr. Jasper Ray T. Mancio, Teachers and students, everyone
were oriented with the school’s rules and regulations as well as the programs for the year.

The biggest event the SPG officers hosted was the celebration of World Teachers
Month (Sept. 5-Oct. 5, 2017) where various classroom activities were done by class officers
under the leadership of the SPG. During the Culminating Activity SPG Hosted an Honoring
Program for teachers where they showered them with gifts and surprises.

Community services and Bayanihan activities were also part of their plan and were
materialized. They actively participated in various school programs and activities like
Intramurals, Nutrition Month, Buwan ng Wika, Career Guidance Week, Children’s Month
Celebration, Reading Month, National Disability Week and Gulayan sa Paaralan. They also
spend their free time tutoring and doing remediation to struggling students from Grade 1-3
officially named Juan(One)-on-Juan (One) Reading Remediation. They intensify their No
Bullying and Clean and Green campaign. They have also set up a freedom wall and placed
suggestion box for practice of freedom of expression as well as to address the needs to be
undertaken by the council. They also had a simple Christmas party and a little gift giving
charity to less-fortunate schoolmates.

At the end of this school year, they welcome the new set of officers for the school year
2023-2024 and were glad Zian Phoebe Cocamas was re-elected as the President of SJES
SELG. He was also elected as the San Roque District SPG Federation President and was
sent as the District’s SELG Representative during the Davao City Division Federation
Election.

SPG Officers were able to join the San Roque Leaders Camp held last June 17-18,
2023 at J. Porras Elementary School. It was a very enjoyable learning experience since they
were able to mingle with other SPG officers from other schools of San Roque District.
Teambuilding workshops and lectures were done during the 2-day training.

Without the thought of recognition whatsoever the group as School leaders had tried
to do the best they can do and the smiles of students were enough to cheer them up and gave
them the push to continue their task as they have promised during the campaign period. The
true price of leadership is the willingness to place the needs of others above their own. This
holds true as the saying goes “Great leaders truly care about those they are privileged to lead
and understand that the true cost of the leadership privilege comes at the expense of self-
interest”.
