ACTIVITY DESIGN

I. TITLE: JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT SCI-MATH CULMINATION 2022

II. RATIONALE

In the K-12 curriculum, learners are expected to manifest the characteristics of 21 st


century learners such as having positive interdependence, face-to-face promotive
interaction, individual accountability, interpersonal and small group skills which all cannot just
be applied in a classroom setting, but can be upon the aspect of sports, in everyday lives, and
in different areas. To meet such characteristics, it is deemed necessary to conduct various
school activities. One of the school activities where learners can show their capability
especially in sports is the intramurals activity. It is an annual undertaking that aims to promote
the significance of the aspects focusing on individual’s skills and talents.

The Cogonon Integrated School through the MAPEH Coordinatos and Department,
will be conducting School Intramurals on December 6-7, 2023 with the theme: ____________.
The activity will be pursued through face to face interactive activities like basketball,
volleyball, badminton, and the 100 meter dash. These activities generally aimed to encourage
the students to showcase their collaborative efforts that boosted and developed their self-
confidence.

Moreover, the event is a great way to increase student engagement by providing them
an opportunity to interact socially with peers and small groups which foster sense of
belonging, positive mental health, and greater engagement to a non-academic activities.

III. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the activity, the following objectives are targeted to be actualized:

a. promote strong positive interdependence;

b. raise the level of consciousness and participation of the students in different


areas that also improves interpersonal and small group skills; and

c. promotes face-to-face interaction, and individual accountability.

IV. METHODOLOGY

The activity will use interactive face to face competition. MAPEH Coordinators will
assign four colors for the student teams. Colors must be blue, red, yellow, and green. Leaders
and members will be given a time for a short meeting to select participants from their teams

to who can play the said games. All competing grade level and participants must adhere to
the general guidelines and the mechanics of each competition. The MAPEH Coordinators will
provide a copy of the mechanics and criteria to the advisers. All color advisers are liable to
update and inform their students or participants about the given set of mechanics and criteria
of each competition including the time and venue, and will supervise their performance.

V. EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS

Each grade level from Junior High School Department are expected to have the
following number of participants/entry per competition:

YELLS and Mass Dance


GUIDELINES:

1. Each team color is entitled to have five atleast twenty five (25) participants. Each team
will perform atleast 2-minutes ensued with a three minutes (3) mass dance

2. The contest is divided into four team colors with advisers. It must be: Yellow, Green,
Blue, and Red.

3. At the end of the competition, the score of each teams will be computed and presented
to the audience. The highest the scores of the team must be the winner.

4. Set of concepts and ideas that might come out in the actual day of the competition will
be given to the students 4 days before the said competition.

CRITERIA:

BADMINTON
1. Each team shall have two players for doubles, both men and women category. It
shall be on a best-of-three game. The first side to 21 points wins the game.
2. A point is scored on every serve and awarded to whichever side wins the rally. The
winning side gets the next serve.
3. If the score is 20-20, a side must win by two clear points to win the game.
4. A game is won if the shuttlecock hits the ground in the opponent’s half of the court,
including the lines.
5. Players must waith for the birdle to cross the net before playing a shot, and while
you can follow through over it, including the net with your body or racket results in a
point being conceded.

VOLLEYBALL
1. Only 6 players on the floor at any

2. Points are made on every serve for the winning team for the rally point scoring.
3. Players may not hit the ball twice in a succession.
4. Ball may be played off the net during a volley on a serve.
5. A ball hitting boundary line is in.
6. A ball is out if it hits an antennae.
7. It is legal to contact the ba;; with any part of a player’s body.
8. It is legal to cath, hold, or throw the ball.
9. Maatces are made of sets; the number depends on level of play.

BASKETBALL
1. Only five players per team on the court.
2. Score more than your opponent to win.
3. Score within the shot clock.
4. Dribbling advances the ball.
5. The offense has five seconds to inbound the ball.
6. The ooffense must advance the ball.
7. Ball and ballhandler must remain inbounds.

BUDGETARY FUNDS

Inclusive financial requirements for the activity shall be drawn from the General PTA
Fund of Cogonon Integrated School amounting to one thousand pesos (1,000).
