A. TITLE: CHILDREN’S MONTH CELEBRATION: “KIDS FOR A BETTER WORLD”

FOR S.Y. 2023-2024

B. RATIONALE:
Children's Month is an annual celebration observed in the Philippines that aims to
promote the rights, welfare, and development of children. The celebration is held every
November in honor of Filipino children and their significant role in society.
The rationale behind Children's Month is rooted in the United Nations Convention on
the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which the Philippines ratified in 1990. The convention
recognizes that children have inherent rights that must be protected and promoted, and it
serves as a framework for national and international policies and programs that address the
needs and concerns of children.
In the Philippines, Children's Month serves as a platform for raising awareness about
children's rights, promoting their well-being, and advocating for their protection. The
celebration includes various activities and events that cater to the different needs and
interests of children, such as sports festivals, cultural shows, educational seminars, and
health campaigns.
The celebration also provides opportunities for children to participate in decision-
making processes and to voice out their concerns and ideas. This involvement empowers
children and helps them develop a sense of responsibility and leadership.
In summary, Children's Month is a significant celebration that promotes children's
rights, welfare, and development. It serves as a platform for raising awareness, advocating
for protection, and empowering children to participate in decision-making processes. The
celebration is a testament to the importance of children in society and the need to prioritize
their rights and well-being.
