Lesson Plan

Target language: Phonics2 (Short Vowel a “ad”)
Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Pronoun sounds “ag”
- Identify words 4 words with “ad”
- construct the words with “ad”

Lesson Procedure

Activity #1: Opening


- Greeting
- Checking attendance
- Warm-up: T asks sts to sing ABC song
- Lead-in: T will review the sound at, ap, ag, and the words Attendance list

- Transaction: Tell the sts what phonics they are going to board marker

Activity #2: Presentation


- T writes the short a with "ad" on the board
- T will drill the sounds by reading slowly a few times and
then let the sts repeat.
- T elicits the words from the sts by asking "Can anyone give
me the words that ended with “ad” or having “ad” in it?"
- T writes the words "dad, pad, glad, mad" on the board.

Activity #3: Drilling


Study - T reads the word a few times, then let the sts repeat
- T asks some sts to read and the rest will follow Textbook, 45mins
- T blends each of the word for the a few times marker and
- T blends again and then let the sts imitates whiteboard
- This time T is not going to blend, just point to the words and worksheet
letters, then all the sts will blend themselves

Activity #4: Practice
- Tracing: T asks to sts to copy each word into their
notebooks, then they have to write 3 times within 1 word
below the words that have been copied.
- Worksheet# ad:

Activity #5: Production


-T asks sts to construct any 5 words following by CVC form
with “ad”.
- Sts will write all those 5 words into five pieces of paper, and
then they have to walk around the class and blend the words
with 5 people.
- When they finish blending, they have to swap the each word
with the one whom they have spelled before they do the 30 mins

Activity #6: Exit password
- All the sts have to say two words with the sound “ad”
before they go home.
