De Amicitia is an Environmental non-profit, non-governmental

organization registered in the Spanish National Associations
Register since 1998. No. 164471 Tax No. G82128281.

De Amicitia is a member of The Alliance of European Voluntary

Service Organizations an International Non-Governmental Youth
Organization that represents national organizations that promote
intercultural education, understanding and peace through
voluntary service.

De Amicitia provides an opportunity for volunteers, both

youngsters and adults, to take part in local and international
volunteering activities, especially towards environmental
protection and sustainable development. These mainly include
international workcamps, but also activities in the local areas.

In addition, De Amicitia takes part in international youth

exchanges and seminars, both as a host and sending
organization. These are focused primarily on social activities and
promoting development, peace and human rights.
 LOCAL PARTNER
AND WORK
Local partner is city hall of Alcalá del Valle. This is the third year
when we collaborate with them. The project is focused also to
encourage the integration of international volunteers interacting
with the local environment, especially with the youngsters.

The work focuses on decorating this tiny Andalusian town with

mural art and using the ceramics on the town’s walls. The project
aims to connect environmental and cultural awareness with art.

The volunteers have to be very motivated and creative.

Volunteers have to design the drawing all together on the first
days and after they have to make the mural with acrylics that will
be provided by the local partner.

 ACCOMMODATION
AND FOOD
The accommodation will be done in the nursery house of the town. There will be beds,
bathrooms and showers for the use of volunteers and also a kitchen where the volunteers can
cook.

In our workcamps all the food prepared by the volunteers doesn´t matter if they are minors or
adults. The ingredients will be provided by our camp leader and the volunteers will be cooking
in teams under the guidance of our camp leader.

House order: The volunteers are also in charge of cleaning the house again in groups. In the
first day the campleaders prepare a list of cooking and cleaning teams and every volunteer will
be taking part in one team every day.

There is no WIFI in the accommodation but it is possible to use the public areas to connect to
the internet. There is no washing machine for the volunteers use.
 LOCATION, LEISURE

Normally there are 2 days off per week. You are free those days
and have the possibility to plan a group trip to the mountains or
to the nearest towns and cities. The camp leader can help you
with the organization and options.

Alcalá del Valle is a mountainous town and one of the white

villages of the Sierra de Cadiz and the region of the Serrania de
Ronda in Cadiz, Andalusia. According to the 2006 census, the city
has a population of 5,355.

The volunteers will enjoy free entrance to the municipal

swimming pool and entrance to the municipal sports facilities
(gym, tennis, squash, paddle). Its popular architecture maintains a
strong Moorish flavour, with its streets of white-washed houses
and balconies overflowing with flowers.

 INTERCULTURAL
EVENING
The intercultural evening is a good way of intercultural learning.
In every project, there is one evening when all participants
present their country in a relaxed way – making a presentation,
watching photos, telling stories, tasting typical dishes, drinks
and sweets, dances etc.

Please, have this evening in your mind while preparing your

luggage to share a piece of your culture with the rest of the
volunteers.

etc.)

You can also bring some card or board games that you would like
to share.

Remember that if you have any allergies or illnesses bring any

medicine that you may need.

And of course, don’t forget to bring your motivation and "desire" ;)

When you are packing your bag, please consider to travel with a
HAND LUGGAGE/BACKPACK that you can take inside the flight,
instead of CHECKED IN LUGGAGE.

1) Every year lots of our volunteers experience some problems as

the airways losing their luggages during the travel and they have
to finalise the camp without their personal belongings.

2) Big luggages usually don´t fit easly to pick up transports.

3) Big luggages occupies lots of space in the shared rooms. YOU

CAN WASH YOUR CLOTHES BY HAND (SOAP WILL BE
PROVIDED)
 HOW TO GET TO
THE MEETING POINT
The meeting point is in the Malaga Bus Station at 16:00 on
the 1st of August.
From Malaga airport to Bus station:

Under the airport there is a train station that takes you

directly to the Malaga Bus Station.
RENFE- CERCANIAS - LINE C1

From the bus station,you should take the bus at 16:00 that
goes to Alcala del Valle, together with the rest of the
group. Please try to be there 10 minutes before.

Departure: Please organise your departure after 15:00 as there is

not possible to find a transport earlier.

 EXTRA FEE
All our workcamps have an extra participation fee of 50 €.
The extra fee is paid 1 month before the workcamp starts and it's a
way to confirm your participation in a project.
