The state of Shaddadi.

(971-1088)
The dynasty of Shaddadis

Before they lived around Dabil.

İn 951, The prominent representative of the dyansty:

Muhammad ibn Shaddad, captured the city of dabil under the control of
the Salaris.

He created an independent emirate of Dabil.

Ali lashkeri, who came to power after Muhammad ibn Shaddad,

In 971, He created the state of Shaddadi, where capital was Ganja in the
north of Azerbaijan.

Also he united Bardan and Shamkir to the state of Shaddad.

The reign of Fazl ibn Muhammad:( 985 – 1030)

Firstly ,he subordinated all disobedient feudal lords to the


central government.

He established kinship with the state of Shirvanshahs and


friendly relations with the state of Ravvadis.

He built Khudafari's bridge over the Araz river in 1027.

The bridge played an important role in the development of


economic and cultural relations between the north and south of
Azerbaijan.

The reign of Musa ibn Fazl: (1030 – 1034)

In 1030, Musa ibn Fazl called the slavs for help against his brother
who rebelled in Beylagan.

The reign of Lashkari 2nd: (1034 – 1049)

In 1037 , the Shaddadis defeated the Byzantine-Armenian troops who


attacked Debil.

In 1038, they defeated and expelled the Byzantine and Georgian


troops that attacked the muslim emirate of Tiblisi.
The reign of Abulasvar Shavur: (1049 – 1067)

He strenghed the central authority in the state of Shaddadi. He implemented a


number of reforms in the army.

He fought wars with Georgians and Shirvanshahs.

In 1054, he signed an agreement with the Seljuk state and submitted to them.

The georgian tsar Bagrat made an alliance with the Alans to capture the muslim emirates of Tiblisi
and provoked them to attack Azerbaijan.

In 1062, Abulasvar Shavur built fences around the city to protect against the march of the
Alans.

In 1063, he prepared the gates of the Ganja fortress.


The reign of Fazl 3rd: (1049 – 1067)

He was the last amir of Shadaddid state.

Relations with the Seljuks became more intense during his time.

In 1088 it was captured by Buga, the commander of the Malikshah 1st.

Then Malikshah 1st appointed his amir to Ganja.

Thus Shaddid state fell.
