 Connect the dots with different colors to

form different lines.

Discussion

Now, we will discuss the different kinds of lines.

Let's first define what a line is.

A line is a mark that you create when you connect

two or more dots.

Lines are everywhere around us! They can be

straight, curved, or even a mix of both. Let's dive
into the basic kinds of lines to discover more
about them.

The first kind of line is

Vertical lines:
A horizontal line is a line that are parallel to the
horizon. for example, a ruler, a table, or a bed.
Can you give me another example of an object
with vertical lines?
Crayon, pen, window, table, book, blackboard,
bus
Let's practice making horizontal lines using our
hands, start from left to right.
(Horizontal line from left to right)

The second kind of line is a vertical line.

A vertical line goes straight up and down like a tall
building or a tree trunk.
Do you think a flagpole is an example of vertical
lines? why
It is a vertical line because it is standing, and
the direction goes up and down.
Very good, flag pole is an example vertical line.
Can you give me another example of an object
with vertical lines?
Wall, Window, street light, door, buildings

Let's practice making straight lines. Start from top

to bottom.

(Straight line from top to bottom)

The third kind of line is a curved line.
A curved line bends like a smile or the shape of a
rainbow.
Can you give me another example of an object
with curved lines?
Banana, crescent moon, wave, clouds, bridge,
ball
The fourth kind of line is a diagonal line.
A diagonal line is like a ramp or a slide. It goes
slanted from one corner to another, neither up nor
down.
Can you give me another example of an object
with Diagonal lines?
Slide, ladder, rain, kite, mountain, roof
And last is wavy Line.
A wavy line is like the gentle waves in the ocean
or the curly hair of a puppy. It's smooth but not
straight.

Again, how many kinds of lines have we

discussed?
We discussed five kinds of lines.
And are those?

Horizontal, vertical, diagonal, curve, wavy line,

Very good, I'm glad you learned a lot today.

Application

Now, let’s use our imagination with this activity

‘Picture lines’

Materials: scissors, colored paper, bond paper

Instructions:

• The class will group by pair.

• Each pair will bring bond paper and colored

paper.

• Using the scissors, cut the colored paper to

make different lines. Paste the cut lines and put
them together to form shapes and objects.

examples of what line?

Diagonal line
How about building flag poles and streetlights?

Vertical line
What you think the importance of lines
Through lines, we can make shapes, letters,
objects, and drawings.

Lines serve as the fundamental elements that

help us create shapes and objects in art, design,
they provide structure, form, and definition,
allowing us to express ideas, convey information,
and bring our imagination to life.
