1. Prayer

Let’s bow our head with the

presence of our lord. In the name of the father and of the son
and of the holy spirit Amen
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed
be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy
will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us; and lead
us not into temptation but deliver us
from evil. Amen
In the name of the father and of the son
and of the holy spirit
Amen.

2. Greetings

Good morning class!

Good morning ma’am
3. Classroom Management
Before you take your seats, kindly
pick up the trashes under your chair
and go back to you proper seats. (All the students will do the instruction)

4. Checking of Attendance
Class secretary, is there any absent
for today? None ma’am

I’m glad that everyone is all here.

B. Priming
Let’s have a game the title of the
game is Jumbled Words

Are you ready everyone? Yes ma’am

Okay let’s start the game

Directions: Arrange the letters carefully and

I will give the meaning identify what it is.

1. HPARG- Defined as a pictorial

representation or a diagram that represents
data or values in an organized manner.

2. ARB PHARG- Graphical display of using

bar of different heights.

3. ELIN APHRG- Commonly drawn to show

information that changes overtime.

I give you 2 minutes to answer the game

TIME IS UP!
Exchange your paper and let’s check if
your answer is correct

Who knows the answer in 1?

(The boy in the back is raising his hand) Ma’am the answer is GRAPH
Okay it’s correct very good!
In 2 who knows the answer?
(The girl in the front is raising her hand) Ma’am the answer is BAR GROUP

Okay its correct good job!

And last number 3 everyone what is the

answer? The answer in 3 is LINE GRAPH

(Everyone is answering the question in 3)

Correct give all 5 claps good job everyone!

Objectives:
1. Define the meaning of bar graph, line
graph
2. Construct a bar and line graph based on
a given set of data and
3. Interpret data represented in a line graph

C. Activity
I will group you in to 3 and form also
to in 3 members and 1 groups is 4
members

I’m I understand? Yes Ma’am

So count 1, 2 and 3

GROUP 1
Construct a bar graph by following
the given steps

GROUP 2
Construct a line graph by following
the given steps

GROUP 3
Answer the following question.

1. How many people watch

comedy?
2. How many people watch
romance?
3. What type of movie is 5 people
have its favorite?
4. What type of movie is 1 people
have its favorite?
5. How many people watch
Science Fiction?

I will give the data and you construct

what task you are assigned
The title is Favorite type of movie,
many people have different favorite
type of movie like Comedy, Action,
Romance, Drama and Science
Fiction. First, 4 people have their
favorite type of movie is comedy, out
of 5 people their favorite type of
movie is action, out of 6 people their
favorite type of movie is Romance,
and in drama there are 1 people
who have their favorite type of movie
and the last 4 people have a favorite
type of movie is Science Fiction.

Okay you may start to do your task.

I will give you 5 minutes to finish
your task.

TIMES UP EVERYONE MARKERS

UP!

Group 1 present your work so the

task you assign is Construct a bar
graph by following the given steps Good morning, ma’am and classmates
you may present. so here we are to present our task the
task is “Construct a Bar Graph”

Job well done!

Next Group 2 the task you assign is

Construct a Line graph by following
the given steps you may present

Good morning, everyone especially to

you ma’am good morning, here we are
to present our task.

Line graph

Good Job group 2

Okay Last group you may present

your work the task you are assigned
is Answer the following question
Good morning to all of us here we are to
present our task

1. 2 people
2. 6 people
3. Action
4. Drama
5. 4 people

Job well done group 3

D. Analysis

1. How do you interpret the given 1. Bar graph can be defined as a

graph? graphical representation of data,
quantities, or numbers using bars
2. What kind of graph is in the or strips. Line Graph is
given? commonly drawn to show
3. What are the two axis? information that changes
overtime.
2. Bar Graph and Line Graph
3. X and Y axis

E. Abstraction

Let’s us now discuss the bar graph

and line graph.

A bar graph can be defined as a

graphical representation of data,
quantities, or numbers using bars or
strips. They are used to compare
and contrast different types of data,
frequencies, or other measures of
distinct categories of data.

For example

A bar graph titled “Favorite Candy”.

The horizontal axis is labelled flavor
and shows the flavor of candy like
Green apple, Caramel, Butterscotch
and Banana. The Vertical axis
labelled of number of students like
zero to 14. The data shows the
numbers of students like a green
apple is 4 students, the number of
students who like caramel is 10
students, in the butterscotch the
students who like is 7 students and
last is banana the numbers of
students who like banana is 8.

How to make a Bar Graph?

Let’s try representing the given data

on a graph.

Step 1: Decide the scale and interval

for your numerical values. The scale
refers to the counting sequence we
will place on the axis. For smaller
values, we simply go with the
counting sequence 1, 2, 3… but for
larger values, we can also pick a
counting sequence with some
interval of numbers between each
value. For example, 5, 10, 15…

Step 2: Label the horizontal and

vertical axes to describe the
information.
Here, we are drawing a vertical bar
graph, so we will place the
categorical data on the x-axis and
the numerical values on the y-axis.

Step 3: Draw bars corresponding to

each category. For example, since
there are 8 pencils, draw a rectangle
over the “pencil category” with the
length of the rectangle as 8 units.
Similarly, draw other bars
corresponding to each category with
the same breath as the first bar.

Step 4: Label the graph with a title.

Line graph

A line graph, also known as a line

chart or a line plot, is commonly
drawn to show information that
changes over time.
You can plot it by using several
points linked by straight lines. It
comprises two axes called the “x-
axis” and the “y-axis”.

• The horizontal axis is called

the x-axis.
• The vertical axis is called the
y-axis.

A line graph is a graphical

representation of information that
changes over a period of time. It is a
chart made by joining points using
line segments.

How to Make a Line Graph?

• On the graph paper, draw the x-

axis and the y-axis. Do not forget to
pen the heading above the table.
Look at the reference graph shown
below to understand better.

• For instance, if one of the elements

is time, it goes on the horizontal
axis, which is the x-axis. The other
element goes on the vertical axis,
the y-axis. Mark the axes as per
their individual characteristics. Here,
the label for the x-axis will be time or
day.

• Using the given data, indicate the

values on the graph. Join the points
and you’ll see how easy it is to spot
the trend now.
• When plotting it, compare multiple
items, create a color key to
understand what each colored line
represents.

I have here an example of line graph

A line graph titled “ Cookie Sales”.
The horizontal axis is labelled is
Day shows Monday, Tuesday, Wedneday,
Thursday and Friday. The Vertical axis is
labelled is Number of boxes from zero to
10. The data points are: Monday is 1,
Tuesday is 4, Wedenesday is 7, Thursday
is 5 and the last day is Friday, the Friday is
10 boxes.

Yes ma’am
I’m I understand class?

Very Good!

F. Application

So now you know the kind of graph

let’s have a groupings

Group 1
Using bar graph show how much do
you spend in a month

Group 2
Using line graph show how much do
you spend in a month
Good job everyone!

IV. Evaluation
A. Use the line graph to answer the following question.
A bookshop made a line graph of the number of books it sold per week during certain
period. Use the information to answer the questions.

1. How many books were sold in week 2?

2. How many books were sold in week 3 and 4?
3. How many books were sold in week 5, 6 and 7?
4. How many more books were sold in week 7 and 8?
5. How many books were sold in all 8 weeks?
