III. LESSON PROPER

Teacher Activity Learner Activity
A. Preliminaries

1. Prayer

- Before we start, let us

all stand for our prayer.
( The students will stand
and pray.)

- In the name of the

Father, and the Son, and
of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father, Who art in
heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy
will be done, on earth as it
is in Heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread. And
forgive our trespasses, as
we forgive those who
trespass against us. And
lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us
from evil. Amen.

2.Checking of
Attendance

- Is there any absent

today? - None, teacher.

- Very Good!

2. Greetings

- Good morning, Class! - Good morning, Ma’am!

- How are you today? - We are all great teacher!

3. Recalling of the
Classroom Rules

- Now, let us recall our

classroom rules.

Classroom Rules

 Come on time.
 Listen to your
teacher.
 Raise your hand to
speak.
 Be respectful and
kind.
 Try your best and
have fun.
- Class, did you
understand the
classroom rules? - Yes teacher.

- Okay, Good!

B. Review

- Before we start our

new lesson. Let's recap
our discussion
yesterday.

routine problems using
data presented in a single

- Very Good!

- From our previous

lesson, you have
learned that data from
a certain table (tabular
data) can be presented
into a bar graph. These
bar graphs can be a
vertical or horizontal in
form. A bar graph has
its parts with particular
information contained.

types of bar graphs
indicating its parts. - (students take a look in
the picture below.)

- Correct!

- A bar graph is a visual

way of showing
information in which
quantities
corresponding to
particular categories
are represented by
rectangular bars of
equal width. The
lengths or heights of
the rectangular bars
compare the quantities
in different categories.

- This is the Double Bar

Graph

Double bar graph helps

us compare or present
more than one kind of
information instead of
just one by using bars.
Same with single bar
graph, a double bar
graph can also be
vertical or horizontal. It
also have two axes, the
vertical axis and the
horizontal axis.

A legend is necessary
for this kind of graph
which represents the
data being compared.

A Double Vertical Bar

Graph displays vertical
bars to represent data.
A graph on the left is an
example of a double
vertical bar graph
representing grade’s
four favorite sports.

Double Horizontal Bar

Graph on the other
hand, shows horizontal
bars to represent data.

Same data from the

single vertical bar
graph can be
represented into a

F. GENERALIZATION

-In this Lesson we

discuss the two types of
bar graphs: the single
bar graph which shows
single bars to represent
data; and double bar
graph which presents
more than one kind of
information using bars.

A single bar graph can

be horizontal or vertical
as well as the double
bar graph.

A horizontal bar graph

includes: two axes, the
horizontal and vertical
axis with labels, title
and scale.

The vertical axis is the

group data, while the
horizontal axis is the
frequency data.

A vertical bar graph

also has two axes, the
horizontal axis and the
vertical axis with labels,
the title and the scale.

The horizontal axis is

the group data while
the vertical axis is the
frequency data.

To interpret bar graphs:

✓ look into its parts

✓ find the vertical axis
and the horizontal axis
✓ look into the labels
and the scales
✓ look for the legend

IV. EVALUATION

- Study the graph

below, then answer the
questions that follow

1. What is the title of

the horizontal bar

graph?

2. What is presented in
the vertical axis?

3. What fruit has the

least number of
kilogram harvested?

4. How many more

kilograms of banana
than guyabano were
harvested?

5. What is the total

kilogram of fruits
harvested?

6. What information is
found in the horizontal
axis of the double
vertical bar graph?

7. How many grade

four pupils are
enrolled?

8. What grade level has

the most enrolled
pupil?

9. How many more girls

than boys are enrolled
in grade six?

10. What is the total

enrollment?
