A. Introduction What I need to know?
 The learners will do the walkthrough of the lesson expectations.
 In this part, the content of the lesson will be presented.
 Learning objectives will also be introduced to guide the learners on the
learning targets.
What’s new?
 The learners will answer the prompt questions indicated at the beginning of
this portion.
 After reading the selection, they will answer the questions provided at the
end of the selection.
B. Development What I know?
 The learners will answer the Learning Task #1 (page 13) to find out their
previous knowledge about recycling and its advantages
What’s In
 The learners will read the paragraphs that introduce preliminary concepts
about recycling.
What is it?
 The learners read and appreciate the concepts they need to know and
understand. These concepts, as presented in this area, revolve around the
prime information about recycling, its types, forms, and advantages.
 In this area, the learners can identify common materials used in recycling.
 They can also become more familiar with the recycled articles based on
recycled materials.
C. Engagement What’s More
 The learners will answer the Learning Task #2 (page 14) indicated in this
portion.
 In this activity they will become more familiar with the concepts about
recycling.
What I Can Do?
 The learners will do the Learning Task #3 on page 14.
 In this activity, the leaners can develop values on the importance of recycling
to save the Earth.
What other enrichment activities can I engage in? (Additional Activities)
 To further enrich learners’ knowledge, skills and values, they will compose
their own one-minute jingle song about recycling with the tune of any latest
song they know.
D. Assimilation What I have learned?
 The information reflective of what they have learned during the Development
and Engagement phases, the learners will answer the questions focusing on
the given topic. The given questions are directed on synthesizing their
learned information based on the given content.
 They are expected to relate their learned concepts to their personal lives
especially in the field of their chosen line of work.
What I can do? (Assessment)
 The learners will answer the 5-item question provided by the teacher.
 The mastery of the subject matter was obtained in this portion through the
learners passing scores of 75% -100% from the given number of items
presented in the test questions.
